A stray pot of Digitalis grandiflora has put out new growth this fall, and despite nightly sub-freezing temperatures the past two weeks it has come into bloom. Here it is, seemly unfazed, blooming in a pot of frozen soil. The photo is not as sharp as I would like, perhaps the plant is shivering too much.
December Digitalis
That's one tough little plant. Thanks for sharing.
What a great surprise!
Incredible! Sure it was not the photographer who shivered?
LOL Sally,
That is interesting sometimes when I find a plant growing when it really shouldn't it just amazes me. Nice view out there as well.
