I planted these last year, carefully watered and weeded them, only got one or two blooms - and sadly concluded that I just did not have enough sun for the beautiful morning glories I love. Now here they are. I'm not sure what to do to try to get them to bloom maybe a little earlier than the middle of September!

Hi Rebecca! It appears that the species you are growing is an I. purpurea. They do tend to be cooler weather bloomers. Beautiful color of bloom in that photo! They do need full sun to produce lots of blooms. That might be part of the problem of so few blooms that you are having.
Thank you, beckygardener. I was thinking I might try putting them on an "obelisk" that I could put in the sunniest place I have. And maybe I should go back to "Heavenly Blue" that doesn't mind the hot weather.
