I recently noticed a foul odor emanating from the fallen boots of my 10 year old latania palm. After further investigation, I discovered huge white grubs living in the boots that were still attached to the tree. According to an article on Google, these are the grubs of the Giant palm weevil, Rhynchophorus cruentatas, and the outlook is not good. Has anyone here has any experience and/or success with treating this pest? I hate the thought of losing this beautiful tree. Thanks.
