Vine Suggestion needed

(Tracey) Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

Can anyone make suggestion toward a vine to tumble down the hill on the front of my property? I would like one that flowers and is an evergreen. Zone 8b, Really hot here, upwards of 100 degrees F alot. We "usually" have milder winters.

A jessimine of some sort - I like the fragrance and look of star Jasmine would be a beautiful and fragrant choice.

Do a google.com image search for Jasmines and you will learn about several different ones.

Here's a link to several kinds: http://www.onegreenworld.com/index.php?cPath=6_149

I currently grow:

Poet’s Jasmine
Star Jasmine
Winter Jasmine
Carolina Jasmine
Jasminum Sambac

Kay,

You are the best!! I didn't even think of that!!

I have some Star Jasmine on a trellis in my back yard. Confederate Jasmine and Star Jasmine are the same thing, right?

Now off to find out how to propagate it. This project is looking less expensive than I was expecting. : D

Daisy, mine roots wherever it touches the ground - check and see if yours is doing the same. If NOT, lay some vines on some scratched up soil and put a rock on top of it - keep it wet and it will root!

Kay, I went out and took cuttings from my vine. I have tucked them in some good rooting soil.. Now hopefully off they go..

Hmm maybe I should have used some rooting hormone. Oh well.

Thanks for you help.. Not sure why I didnt' think of that. Something I have in my own back yard. lol
