I dug this border next to the garage this spring. It is south facing, but because of the house and a large silver maple to its west, it gets only morning and early afternoon sun: the western end (nearest point on the first picture) gets maybe 4 or 5 hours of morning sun and the eastern end 5 or 6 hrs. of morning to early afternoon sun.
My problem is that I filled it with plants that I moved from other parts of the yard and it just doesn't look right. I thought the back of the border needed taller plants, so I put some cimicifuga back there and it looks worse now! What is wrong? (Or, is it just me?)
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Here are 4 pics: This is pic one, looking east . . .
