I have been strolling around in the neighbourhood and found a few local convolvoluceae...
This one has huge leaves and a relatively small white flower
german convolvoluceae
Martin - This one is very pretty! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7929524 Quite a pretty pattern on the bloom! Any chance of collecting seeds from them?
all are very pretty
If the street cleaners don't kill the plants there may be a good chance to get some seeds, Becky.
Martin
they are very pretty and that pink one is so pretty. hope the cleaners dont kill it.
Martin - If you should need seeds, just dmail me. :-)
just lovely, Martin - makes me homesick for the years in my childhood we lived in Germany - there was a meadow of wildflowers nearby over a cliff - have never encountered another meadow like that one with such a profusion and variety of wildflowers.
This one's cute - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7929523 - looks a lot like one I used to see towards the top of Federal Hill downtown in Baltimore, near Ft. McHenry. I enjoyed it much more than the logo of a corporation spelled out in petunias on a slope further below.

Yesterday, I made a bike tour along the Main river. But I didn't proceed at a rapid speed as I was stopping for local bindweed along the bike track. I am amazed how this species varies in size, leaf shape and flower types. I found one with a little red ring inside. The photo isn't that good; I was able to collect a few seeds.
Just in case anyone wonders: the pink ones are Convolvulus arvensis, http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/32093/ - despite the very negative commentaries there i've never fount that one being a problem in germany - very contrary to calistigia, which is pure gardening horror.
I love them all.. wish I had some.
