I ordered this lily, Double Sensation, early this spring, and planted it right away when it arrived. I got three bulbs of this, along with about 45 other lily bulbs. This is the only variety that looks all twisted and funny. I had another that was supposed to be double and wasn't, but I'm willing to give it a year to mature and come into its own. This one, though, just looks sick. Suggestions?
What is wrong with this lily?
Seems to be a common problem with that one. See here, about half-way down. :(

Pity, it's a pretty little thing.
They are talking about this on that other site. Bert has said he contacted the supplier.
I tend to have problems like that in the picture as a result of spraying in inadequately diluted mixture.
I wish that were the issue Cathy...Sadly there was nothing sprayed on or around this lily and all the others planted near is are fine. Let's just hope that they stay fine.
Well, I dug and disposed of all of mine. Sad; that would have been such a pretty lily, if it had looked anything like it should have. Thanks for all the information and links, everyone, on both this site and the other one. I would have been really upset if it had spread to all my other lilies.
Angie
Trashed mine too. You're right...I was really looking forward to these.
I never trash a plant like this. I would isolate it in a container to watch it the following year. I have had problems like this that did not occur with the lily the following year.
Cathy that was my first thought, however my lilies are spread among almost all of my gardening areas and space is at a premium. I was truly afraid that I didn't have any place isolated enough to take the chance. I'd rather lose one type of lily and perhaps try it again another time when the vendor has a clearer idea of what happened. Know thyself I suppose...I would have stressed over it, lol!
Don't know if they are the same, but yours are lovely. Wish mine had been.
That is pretty, Tex, and much more like what I was expecting from Double Sensation. It was one of the few that I ordered 6 of, instead of 3, because it looked so pretty! I put it right in the middle of my front bed, too. :(
I'd rather trash one set of lilies than risk losing all of them. The fact that several other people who ordered from the same source, at the same time, had the exact same problem was a red flag to me. If everyone else's looked fine, I likely would have waited it out.
Sigh.
I ordered mine from a seller on ebay. Forgot the name though. Ordered different kinds from that seller and all her bulbs looked healthy and huge and so far no problems.
