My brother rescued this plant from a bulldozer's path several years ago in western North Carolina. He planted it on his property in West Virginia where it remained dormant for 3 years - no sign of life at all. He assumed his efforts were fruitless. Three years ago it emerged with three flowers. Now look what he has to show for his efforts!

we are supposed to have C.parviflorum but i haven't seen them in the wild
only nursery grown ones which i purchased & haven't seen bloom yet :-)

Very cool - so they are farther south than I thought. I bought a Goodyera last year and it made it through our crazy winter and spring (early cold dip before things were hardened off and then a spring of huge temp swings and rain that basically rotted a bunch of stuff). But it is sorely missing the sun and just refuses to do anything until then. I didn't realize that it was in the orchid family!

WR, too funny.
You know about CTRL-C and CTRL-X, right? My favorite combos. Select text or url and hit CTRL-C (for copy) or CTRL-X (for cut). Then go to the new browser window or document or email you have open and type in CTRL-V and it will past your selection there. I find it much faster than using the mouse and menus . . .
Good point about posting the picture. This will give everyone something to aspire to!
