How viable are lilac seeds? I got one seed to a pod from my plants & was wondering if it`s worth it to try & plant them?
can someone tell me..................
I have no answer to your question but a comment. My lilac sends up shoots from the base. For propagation I've basically been seperating those away from the parent. May or may not be simpler depending on you.
Chris
That`s what I thought too hmmm....but you know what maybe i`ll make it a winter experiment? Thanks Chris
I think most lilac seed need 30 to 60 days cold stratification.
You can do this in your frig. Good luck!
Cool! Thank you ...another experment to work on. Better collect some more...it`s gonna be a long winter.
