Hi there, I have a blood orange tree that has a branch growing from near the base which is covered in long spines and the leaves on this branch look completely different than the leaves on the rest of my tree. Has anyone ever heard of this? I am not sure what to do with this branch....
Blood orange tree with weird growth
It's a sucker growing from the root stock. Every grafted citrus I get does this. Keep them cut off or they'll eventually take over and you won't get any fruit.
Yikes! Ok, will do. Thanks!
