Here is a section in the front yard only done last spring. It is lilies planted in betwen the daylilies which are not blooming yet. Because the daylilies were just put in as mostly double fans, it needs time to fill in aqnd look the way I wanted.

Here is the same terraces garden pictured above alittle later in the year with lilies blooming up on top and daylies at the bottom.

Your gardens are lovely. I think the lily in post #7624203 is Eclipse

Could be. I got it in a mix from VB Wholesale.

NYRita, Beautiful!! You put them together well and I think the terraces are a good way to double your space! I hope you post more!

I don't have time right now but will post more pictures later or tomorrow. I really had to terracce parts of my yard if I wanted to be able to plant in some of these areas.

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

I have the page watched, so whenever you post, I'll see them. I almost wish I had terracing :o)

Here is a section of trumpet lilies near some daylilies. They seem to be mostly the purple ones which are PURPLE PRINCE which a got at VB Wholesale.

NYRita, everything is gorgeous! Silk Road is beautiful! I hear rave reviews over it! You put colors together so well! I'd never get tired of walking around your beds!

NYRita, gorgeous roses with Jacqueline lilies! Good match! You really have wonderful gardens! Everything is lush and full of blooms!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Those roses and Jacqueline lilies is a pairing to die for.

Prescott, AZ(Zone 7a)

It's a lovely garden, and beautifully photographed!

The JACQUELINE lilies were just the right color to plant in front of the similiar color palate rose shub in back of them. Sometimes using the same color doesn't work but here it did very well.

Love your beds, Rita - everything is so full and lush. Does any of it face the street? I bet you slow down traffic! ^-^

Love the photo at 3:20 pm on March 12 especially.

Many of the gardenbeds face the street. In fact many start just off the sidewalk in my front yard and on one side is the slope with the cottage garden feel and the lilies and zinnias. The other side is terraced. But you can stand on the sidewalk and easily touch those Jacqueline lilies. The terraces go up from the sidewalk street view, then you get to level land were the house is, then you go uphill again (more terraces) to part of the backyard. It was a very challenging layout to work with but it lends itself to an absolutely stunning result. Also the fact that it is not level lets me get so much more planted than could work in a level space.

That front part of the front yard is planted to be viewed from the street. Everyone in the neightborhood knows my house by now, I run into people I don't even know that know which is my house.

Steve- The photo in Post #7624215, which is the one I think you are referring to, is the general section were those Jacqueline lilies were planted only in the picture there some oriental lilies in front were blooming. You could stick your nose into them to sniff them from the sidewalk.

I just clicked to enlarge the picture to look at it. Those Jacqueline Lilies are easy to spot in the picture. Just the angle is different from the one showing the roses in the terrace behind the lily and daylily terrace. Then there is the small very skinny first terrace immediately in front. Way off the the very far right, next to my neighbors driveway is anyother rose section I call Florabundavillw. Planted on the slope, not terraced and last more lilies off to the top far side. People often stop their cars while driving by and just gawk.

Daylies in the backyard terraces. I want to add spring bulbs of daffoldils and tulips to this bed this fall. In this terrace I have the lilies in the next terrace back but you can't see them in that shot.

Here is a section of backyard terraces were you can see the daylilies blooming with the lilies and nasturtiums on top.

NYRita, how many people find themselves drawn up your steps before they realize what they are doing? I think I'd at least make it to the top! Being known for your blooms is the greatest feeling and well deserved!

You got my heart with the daylilies! Gorgeous!! It's like a candy shop with so many delicious colors!

You are amazing!!

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

I do love daylilies and I like lots of color. Also, I really do not have a large property, hard to believe when you see everything thats growing here, so I like to have the same bed have a series of bloom at different times. For instance planting lilies, especially asiatic lilies around the daylilies gives me bloom (lilies) in June and July (daylilies). This fall I am going to me adding lots of tulips and daffodils so that I get very early bloom in those same areas.

Actually everyone kows of the front yard, it can't be missed. But not many people realize that the gardens all continue out in the back. Not many people see the backyard gardens.

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

Found another shot of the left side of the front yard when the daylilies, lilies and zinnias were all in bloom. I am standing on the sidewalk, which you can see in the picture, and at the foot of my driveway.
