Is it too early....

Do you keep them in the house Deb?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

For now they're in the house, will move them out when I can. I usually don't start them so early, but this was one I was going to toss...

Here's a whole thread on the some of the ways DGers plant their potatoes. Ric

I've always wanted to do potatoes. Tried one year in hay - what a disaster! They rotted and it became home to a yellow jacket nest!

My basil took a rousing third place at my Saugus Flower Show yesterday! I am hoping to have a bunch to put out when the weather gets warmer. I have about 20 seedlings beside the three that I potted up for the show.

Martha, you just reminded me to get some of my basil and other herbs started. I've been so busy getting the garden in shape for planting, with the nice weather and all, I've neglected to start plants for it. I also usually do one of those tumbling pot things of herbs by the door for easy access. I try to do my peas on St. Pats day and my potatoes on Good Friday. The peas, onions, and radishes are in and since we are traveling less this spring, I should be able to get more done. Ric

Congrats Martha!

Great, Martha! Ric, you are very ambitious...nothing in the garden yet for me.

WEll, I wouldn't have any yet, except for the competition.

I might try starting my potatoes in leaves this year. Sounds pretty easy.
