I planted these vines about 3 years ago and they finally bloomed this past summer. Do I need to trim the vines this spring and how far back should they be trimmed if needed? Or do I trim at all?The vines are twisted about 6 ft tall around a trellis. I had just about given up on the vine blooming but was really pleased when I saw the blooms. I never saw any seeds after the blooms. How long does it take to produce seeds?
trimming Rangoon Creeper?
'Trimming is advisable just before it starts sprouting in late winter.'
That is what this website said

I have one that I planted a couple years ago. It just bloomed this past year. I plan to let mine grow bigger before doing any trimming. I want it to fill out and cover a portion of fence. I won't trim unless it starts to intrude on the gate. Then I'll trim as needed. That is my plan, right or wrong.
How big is yours?

The vine is about 10-12 ft in length climbing on an arbor. I hope it comes back this spring as the cold really did a number on it. I do not see any green on the bottom of the vine. Last fall prior to the freezes I dug up a couple of rooted vines and potted them up over the winter just in case I lost my mother vine. I guess time will tell over the next few weeks. The temps have been climbing into the high 60's this week and maybe the 70's next week.
thanks for the links
