the page is in Norwegian - but, I'd like to share the pictures of how we celebrate New Years Eve in my home town in Norway ^_^ Imagine a freezing winter's night - brilliant snow and brilliant fireworks

I'd like to share this with you....
So pretty!!
Bec, That was just beautiful. I was surprised to see that the water isn't frozen. Is there much daylight at all in your town at this time of year?
No frozen water, we're on an island in the north-sea, so ocean water...the in-land fjords freeze though...much colder there....I'd say about 3-4 hrs of daylight ^_^
I remember seeing all of those hugh ice breaking ships in Oslo. I know that some of the fjords freeze pretty deeply. I can't imagine living with that much darkness. Did they do the fireworks at midnight?
Great fireworks show, Bec!! I guess fireworks are global celebration media. On the first picture, is "2010" sign made of rope? I was wondering if they used rope instead of electrical lights for the holidays??
Nice Bec, I'd say they love their fireworks! Ric
Actually - I believe the first picture is a sparkler!
Probably, still takes an open lens and determined hand. Ric
