This has to be the longest naming for one of our cannas .. lol
Usually they just "speak" their names to me :)
My youngest Daughter wants to name her 'Alice in Wonderland' .. lol
Also suggested are 'Angel Eyes' and 'Almost Heaven'
It is a beauty. Lovely and innocent looking.
So what is it going to be??????? I still do not know : /
Here are some additional pics to see just how lovely she is.
Yes, it is definitely a "she" .. :)
Need a Good Name for This Canna
'Alice in Wonderland'...how appropriate :)
Since she's a girlie girl, here's a few more names to consider:
Pink Ballet
Sky at Morn
Strawberry Serena
Cotton Candy
strawberry ice
I think it looks like:
"Girly Girl"
"Blushing Bride", although not sure how many brides actually blush nowadays :-D
Taking the whole plant together, It looks like the sky before a tornado warning is issued. Soooo how about "Tornado Warning".
It also looks a little like a pink tomato, so maybe "Tomato Warning" (Sorry, I think maybe there's a problem with my monitor... that's what I read first in "tornado warning")
Actually I do like the idea of a name that suggests dark foliage i.e. "Strawberries and Smoke"
I took a vote here yesterday on all the suggesteds as I need to get it named.
They decided 'Strawberry Delight' is going to be it.
I copied a list of all the suggestions.
I am SURE I will be using some of them in the near future.
I will keep this thread posted which ones we us.
Thanks Everyone :)
You were leaning toward 'Strawberry Delight', and what a perfect fit.
Keep us posted on others. Has this been the longest suggestions of names or what?
I also agree this name is perfect...
jen
Yes, this one has been the longest to name .. ever. ha
Thanks :)
My Daughter is still going on about 'Alice in Wonderland'. lol
She is funny.
We will have to do this again. It was a lot of fun :)
Did you name the Canna yet?
'Strawberry Delight'
I have kept some of the suggested names as needed for other new cannas down the line .. as some are very good names :)
Thanks :)
I would have thought strawberry chocolate ice.
Couple of impressive features in the photos - the leaves have a greenish/bluish/grey color with a reddish edging and reddish stems that complement the color of the flowers elegantly. The flower color is a lovely soft red and I love the fade out to the edges. Really nice work. Wouldnt have known that you could do cannas in zone 6!
