I have an open space (about 4'x6') in the garden bordering my driveway and I'm thinking of planting a small avocado tree there. I'm concerned, though, about whether the roots will crack the concrete. Can anyone tell me whether avocado roots go deep enough to avoid that problem?
Avocado tree question
Small avocado trees tend to become large avocado trees. This site suggests giving the avocado tree plenty of room to grow - up to 20 ft.

And they are shallow rooted.

Excellent, just the information I was looking for. I'll find something else for that space.
Thanks muchly. :)
