Take a peek at a ton of iris

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

OK everyone start buying lottery tickets or scratch offs, whatever is available in your state! Can you say POWERBALL? All it takes is a dollar and a dream!

Lebanon, OR

Oh If I won, I would travel, after paying off the bills. I would see all my friends here, and see all my friends in foreign countries..and of course their gardens.

Come on scratch, win and come on down, over, up, coast to coast

LOL

What goals in hybridizing? As I am sure a lot of people know, we do medians--sure you are TB but many facets to that one. I refuse to let lotteries have my money; I have better uses for it.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm with you Lucy. I keep saying I'm going to win the lottery someday, but I have a real aversion to buying tickets. We did go to the local casino for the first time this summer, and I contributed the unheard of, for me, amount of 10.00.

I would rather buy irises.

Lebanon, OR

You two sound like me. I keep saying I will win the lottery some day but there is one darn catch, they want you to BUY tickets LOL, I am not a gambler as I feel there are so many things that I can do with the money and have a longer enjoyment from it than put in a machine or anything else. This does not mean that I have never gambled, but my idea of gambling is maybe 1-5 dollars for a full weekend, if it goes in a couple of minutes or for the full time I am there, that is OK as well. When we went to Vegas, a gift from our son, in one week between the two of us we spent less than $20.00 in gambling. Big time gambler LOL

My husband won 10.00 at the casino, so we came out even. But the buffet was stupendous!

Lebanon, OR

We go to one of the two casinos for the buffets as one really is better than the other, just depends where we are when we get hungry when we go to our beautiful coastal line.

We had wanted to take a couple of days before the surgery but there is NO way..but once I can drive after TDay we will take a couple of days over there and enjoy our time away before I start to work on the catalog and the webpage

When we take our visiting guests on the gambling boat out of Port Canaveral, I start out with 2 rolls of quarters, I usually end up with one full roll and the latest CD from the onboard steel drum musicians. Love that island music. Love the free buffet, lounge entertainment, talking with strangers and reading my paperback of the moment. I have seen groups of sea turtles and once a stream of beautiful jellyfish. We always see dolphins and lots of seabirds. I never buy lottery tickets either, too many other things to spend my money on like quilting fabric and irises.

ROTHLMBO

oh y'all. now you are talking something I know about. used to be founding partner of a game company. One of our products was gambling software, including lotteries for indian casinos. only ones that really win are the ones running the lotteries. The one sucker in 10 million that wins, wins peanuts comparitively. Even the states that have lotteries don't profit nearly as much as the ones running the lottery. Take it from one formerly on the inside.

have tested the products. can play blackjack & craps with the good players. have had training from pit bosses on the games. Been allowed behind the curtains where "whales" drop millions in an hour. (youch!) even once, after testing out a new Monopoly slots game with the Hasbro crowd, played the same game at the Hilton, and, using what I'd learned, won over 4,000 times what I was betting (nickels).

IMHO, gambling is for adults what rollercoasters are for the younger crowd. it's the thrill, the entertainment factor. If it's not fun, don't do it. I work too hard for my money. money is my tool to have the life I want, not to throw it away on a split second thrill - not when it takes an hour to earn what takes a split second to waste! So don't ever apologize for not gambling. IMHO, that makes you wise. then again, I don't like Vegas - too dang noisy, makes me irritable....

win by keeping your $$ buying plants to make you happy.
ok, this is my rant of the day....

Winnsboro, TX

If I ever get out and have the opportunity to visit I'll come see you Miss Rebloomnut!!! Your one in a million in my book and I know that God is going to reward you many times over. Now please explain why your lonely. I have no ideal how old you are or anything else about you other than your a wonderful lady that loves irise, daylilies, and people. You should never be lonely. (smile) My life has been blessed more than once by your kind and gentle heart and spirit.
Sending good thoughts and blessings your direction. Love Ya!

Hey I don't do rollercoasters, I'd pee in my pants. They scare me to death. LOL
Don't do alot of other things either. I'll stick to spending what little bit we have on the things that makes me happy. Like irises, daylilies, grandbabies, and great grandbabies. (big smile)

Hope all of you are having a glorious Sunday!!!!! Happy Gardening, Marian

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I cannot wait until the day there are none at home bonjon, I will be doing the Happy Dance for weeks when that finally happens!

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

We cry when we put them on the bus to kindergarden
We cry when they stand at the door and say I don't want to go to school anymore.
We cry when they leave for college.
We cry when we send our foreign exchange student home after having them as a family member for a year.
We cry when they get married.
We cry when they move so far away we get to see them once a year, if that.
We cry when they give us a grandchild.
I know the Happy Dance, too.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Sometimes I just need a break, but no such luck...so playing with my plants is the only break I get
