Many heleniums just came, or coming, into bloom here (at least in sunnier locations).

I tried wintersowing a couple of varieties this year, and the few seedlings I had were consumed by slugs. Seeing all the glorious pics, I must try again! I hadn't vigorously pursued getting them established in this garden thinking their moisture requirements would be difficult for me to meet, but when reading the history link above noticed "drought tolerant" listed as one of their strong points. How demanding are they for moisture?
