Saw this on the ID forum

Sounds like a super, yet compact, early spring , white flowering bush. I've never heard of it. Anybody grown it?
Pearl bush/ Exochorda- grown it?
Sally, No, but it looks really nice. Wonder if it's fragrant. How did you come across it?
Somebody posted a flower picture on the ID forum. It seems hard to find flowering bushes that don't grow eventually really big.
Sally, we've got a couple planted in the landscape - sorry, just looked and I don't have any pictures. They were planted either last year or the year before, I forget, but they're beautiful little shrubs when they're blooming! If you look for it, make sure you look for 'The Bride' (Exochorda x macrantha) http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1713/ - it's the "compact" one http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/180740/. I've seen comments indicating that it "likes shade" but I think the one we have growing in full sun blooms better :)
