Netting

Japanese beetles are eating my plums and cherries, and I've tried wrapping them up in nylon net. Which would work pretty well if the netting came in a different size instead of bolts. The trees don't like being netted and they keep sticking t heir branches out of the gaps, which let the beetles in.

What I want is netting the size of the bird netting for trees, but with a much smaller mesh.

Anyone know a source?

Not sure if this helps. I spent a lot of time looking for something similar, but what I found was either not suitable or very expensive. I finally built a PVC frame around my small fruit rows and covered with fiberglass window screen. I'm glad I did, I am having a great crop this year and no bug or bird damage.

What do you do about bees?

I assume you mean for pollination. Open the covers during the flowering, then close/cover when the fruit starts to develop.
