I was able to get a nice one in about 5 months but I also did add a lot of horse manure to that. This last one I am making is taking forever though, probably because it is a cold compost instead of a hot one, I do have tons of worms on that one though. I really need a second one though. Of all the composters out there this one has very good reviews and is not as expensive as others.
Karen, I do what you described, too. It's doesn't seem to matter if everything has not broken-down, as long as it's not too "lumpy"
I'll have to try that as well, sometimes I need the compost sooner than when it is completely broken down.
