strawberry patch

Sumner, IA(Zone 4b)

I have a wonderful bed of strawberries that is just finishing up for the season. My problem is that clover is beginning to creep in on the sides of the patch. I till it up, pull out what I can, but it seems to be invading and I don't know how to get rid of it without killing my strawberries. I thought about taking round-up out on a day when there is no wind (and after I have picked all of the berries) and try hitting the spots that I can but I'm wondering if there is a better way? Anyone have any suggestions?

Your strawberry bed probably needs thinning anyway.

i bought a hanging basket with some strawberries and I am wondering how do I get a patch growing out of them.

I've heard of those hanging strawberry plants. I wonder how they produce. After they are done for the season, can you just take it apart and plant the roots in the ground?

I am trying to cut the runners and just planting them and seeing what will happen. looks like one runner already has roots coming off it while still on the basket.
