pirl's Japanese irises

It's been a grand season for the Japanese irises this year!

Amethyst Wings is superb this year!

Prairie Glory is doing well in the shade.

Hatsu Kagami. Admittedly, not a great photo but it was taken in the rain and I loved seeing the patterns the rain made in the bird bath.

They do make a statement in a clump don't they. Nice.

Kontaki On is a lovely light blue.

This is NOT Momogasumi from Dutch Gardens. I love it anyhow!

Edited to say I've been advised by a few people that this is not Momogasumi so I do apologize about the name but it doesn't stop me from loving this one.

Just breathtaking! I love the details that show up when I enlarge the photos. Amethyst Wings and Momogasumi are particularly wonderful.

The Asiatic lilies also started blooming early. This one is Ginza. It's never looked so lovely before so it's due to either the weather or the cool rainy spring we've had.

Thanks. The tallest ones, 45", in the front garden, received nothing extra and yet grew best of all.

I didn't think any flower could be more beautiful then a lily. I will have to get some Japanese Irises for my garden. I think you have enabled me to come addicted to another plant. Please keep the pictures coming.

Pirl they are stunning. Astible is a perfect partner for them. I think I will have to get some now and plant in the new test bed. That first photo should be framed as have not seen anything more beautiful.

This is better than a glass of champagne! Thanks to all for the wonderful and warm compliments - they go straight to my head!

Of course, it just happens that I have more...

They play together so well. I love how all the colors get along so well.

Geisha Girl is the pink one and Frilled Enchantment is at the top.

The very tall deep violet nameless one commands attention.

The low violet one is also nameless but I love how it matches Fortune (so I've nicknamed it Fame).

The same two yet again. They bloom at the same time making it twice as nice.

It's Momogasumi again just because it's so good at posing for me.

Some people refer to the Japanese irises as floating butterflies. Here you can see why...

Geisha Obi. The one at the bottom was still not fully opened when I took this photo.

Edited to say I'm wrong. This one is Pink Frost but I do have many from Eartheart and they are all so gorgeous.
