The Pinecone ginger looks very interesting, I don't have that one, but do have the Red Buttons ginger, or spiral ginger (Costus woodsonii). The red cones emerge from the top of the plant, and the yellow flowers that come out of the cone are supposedly edible. It blooms most the year, till we get a frost, but always comes back. It does spread and loves anywhere you plant it, also propagates from cuttings very easily.
