"it comes out of the I.purpurea 'Old Fashioned Mix'...I happen to like it myself,even if it is fairly common...I have not known it to have a specific 'common name',like many other MG's that may never have been offered individually and were never given any 'official/unofficial' name other than perhaps a basic name based on the looks of the flower... A big thank-you . . . don't like to be incorrect.
