The "dog days" of summer are upon us once again after a break for a couple of days. There was a thunder storm to the east of me yesterday afternoon--it would have been welcome here, but we didn't get a drop of rain.

# Today: Sun and clouds mixed. Hot and humid. Heat index near 110F. High 98F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
# Tonight: A few clouds. Humid. Low 74F. Winds light and variable.

I have a few flowers that are blooming. The purple sweet potato vine seems to be thriving, although a few of the leaves are turning brown.
