Billyporter - yes the storms can be impressive. It is the wind that comes off the ocean, usually when a "nor'easter" comes up the coast. 60 mph winds are not uncommon and sometimes hurricane force winds. The forest is remarkable protection - and as the wind goes over the tops it sounds like a jet engine. I am about 100 feet back from the water, it is wooded but when the leaves are off I can see the water sparkling. I have access to the shore, but that really doesn't matter because except in high summer I am the only person here. kwanjin - baby clothes?
