Thanks Moonglow for the compliment - though I must say lilies are quite a bit easier here than peonies. Lilies return well for me and most deal with the summer heat well except for some Orientals, which can get scorched in July - but most bloom before the end of June and so they're OK. I have one peony bush ready to pop, but if it doesn't open by mid-May the buds will probably dry up. Early bloomers are best here. The lilies, on the other hand, are fine. They keep coming back so they must like it well enough!
