Black Vine Weevil

Taken on 18th July 2008, Lincoln UK. I usually put my foot on them but had the camera in hand, taking pics of moths. Going out 'very' late at night you can find them, I have very few now.

Around 9mm long, some smaller, all adults lay eggs from April to September, liking pots with fuchsias, some tubers and in ground, Heuchera. Checking pots in/out of greenhouses in spring for grubs helps eliminate them
