thought this was a fruit tree a month ago... was just a stick.. .then it become completely covered in pink blossoms... sadly only lasted about a week. Turns out this is a Western Redbud, Cercis occidentalis... NOT a fruit tree (oh well, it's still a nice tree). Should have known this, particularly since a lot of the photos of this species in the Plantfiles were added by me... oops.
