DavidofDeLand Jan 21, 2013drthor Mar 21, 2013Thanks so much for your nice comment. No help here, but just a lot of love and passion for flowers ... or maybe a lot of help from good and bad "bugs". I planted each bulbs and plants by myself. Before I started this garden 6 years ago I attended many gardening classes at the Dallas Arboretum (our botanical garden) and the local garden store. I moved from Florida where my garden was all tropical with more of 200 orchids. The first class I attended in Dallas was titled : "How to garden in purgatory" ... where I learn that we have 245 days of active growing . I remove 90% of the original landscape in the front of the house, which it was very "high" maintenance (with many shrubs to shape and trim constantly). In the back of the house I remove all the grass (the best thing I ever done). I figured if I could save the money from trimming round shape shrubs and cutting the grass every week ... I could buy lots of flowers and bulbs, and that what I did. Now the garden is taking care of itself
