Comments regarding Hawaiian Botanicals

I have been looking for Sarrecenia Purpurea for years in a large size. Their website advertises large, mature plants of many species of sarracenia, complete with pictures. I emailed as their website suggests and waited for a reply that didn't come. I phoned this week and received the information that all they had were the small 3.5" pots that I can buy at the local florist. I mentioned that the website was incorrect and was told they were too busy to keep it current all the time. In fact it seems that it has been under construction for the last several weeks. I notice today that they no longer show stock in the S.P. I was very disappointed and will continue the hunt.

I'm suspicious of the "Rocky Mountain" feedback.

I too had the same ill experience as the other negative feedback. Yes, the man was very helpful and courteous, but his partner (and spouse?) is the exact opposite. There's nothing good about the feeling of knowingly being ripped off by her.

The man i spoke to last year (2004) was pleasant...I think his name is Jack or John. but the woman (jeannie) was impatient, discurteous and very very greedy. I went in person with my family.

We bought some of the carnivrous plants and water lilies. We will never buy from her again. In the summer we visited a group of carnivorous plant people who was holding a show and they mentioned that this company cheated many of them in the past with mislabeling and selling more expensive when they hear you were interested in them. Their website is pretty , but don't be fooled.
