I paid for shipping insurance, paid for a 1 year warranty and paid for 2 to 3 foot trees. I received dead and sick trees that are 18 inches tall. I email the company within hours of delivery and their response was "NO REFUNDS" . They have made no offers of any kind to make this right. The owner himself claims they sent me healthy trees, however I have documented everything really well and I have dozens of photos proving my claims are 100% true. Even with photos the owner has not made any effort to offer resolution to this situation. I hope this review saves many other people from making the same mistake I did by giving this company my hard earned money. They defrauded me and shipped me something other than what was advertised.

Buyer beware. Unlike most other nurseries, they do not provide a 1 year warranty. You must purchase it, and you must read the fine print to locate this offer. I purchased several Fireball Nandina's in October, and half of them did not survive the mild Georgia winter, less than 5 months later. So, when I phoned expecting a replacement offer, I was told about the warranty at cost. Again, buyer beware because if the plants can't survive the mild Georgia winter, they are not strong. I planted them all the same way, and at the same time, in two beds right next to one another, and only half of them survived. I WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THEM AGAIN. I only used Planting Tree to support small businesses and because I thought their plants would be hardy. My local Home Depot will be getting my garden budget this season.

Disappointed in plant's survival (6 small sky pencil holly bushes) ...I was requested to send pictures which I did. I was first told they aren't guaranteed (as most nursery's do for a one year period) and then that they were planted incorrectly (my pictures showed the dead ones in the back yard on the lawn...although the specific planting advice was not provided with the original plants-which were planted per only instructions given with the shipment). I just went to their site to see choices when trying to order and it says the sky pencil holly are eligible for warranty but never got to a screen which indicated I had to 'buy' the warranty. So basically nothing done but tell me what I had done wrong. Next offer was to allow me to buy 4 more at "a discount". The discount was a price higher than I could get 4 new of the same size on Amazon (which screenshot I sent to them)...not much of an offer to resolve a customer's bad result with their plants. I was disappointed with this purchase and the company's weak response to that disappointment.

Hi Joy! Every customer is given the option to purchase a 1 year warranty when checking out. You chose that you did not need the 1 year warranty.

From the photo's that you sent, the trees were planted in the middle of a lawn without any mulch or protective barrier around the base of each tree. I'm not sure how the lawn was able to be mowed... which is probably the cause for the death of these trees.

We do supply planting directions with every order. The photos that were sent in did not show any resemblance that the directions were followed.

We offered you 50% off of replacements which is more than generous. It wouldn't be fair if we replaced these trees to our great clients that do purchase the warranty.

Tree's and plants are perishable and can die at any time. Weather, soil, planting, and many other factors can cause stress and decline which is why we offer a warranty.

We would suggest if you do purchase anything in the future that may perish, to purchase a warranty protection plan just in case something happens.

I ordered 12 Apricot Drift Roses, expecting them to look like the picture of the ones in cellophane with the tags (otherwise, why show that picture both on their website and in their email advertising?). What I received were plants that were obviously thrown in the boxes without the cellophane and without tags, and arriving with soil spilling out from the containers all over the box, These plants are not anything I would ever consider buying even at bargain basement prices and were a total waste of money. I spoke with Tony and he did not see my concern, even after seeing the pictures, so I now question their knowledge of plants and their integrity about wanting customer satisfaction. If I could post the pictures here, I would, because I know that other consumers would be just as upset as I am to receive such inferior quality plants.

I just got a weeping cherry tree in the mail yesterday immediately upon opening the package I was confused it didnt look anything the weeping cherry trees I've seen in stores and nurseries. It was tall but very thin and just one long stick it did have leaves and looked somewhat ok the the leaves had holes in all of them and had some kind of bug on them. Now for what I paid $130 for a stick is ridiculous my neighbor just bought one last week from the nursery close to us and it was the last one or I would have went there and with this virus going on I cant exactly go to other stores so I decided online would be easiest but my neighbor paid $150 and her tree is pretty thick more like a tree than a thin branch and her has alot of weeping branches mine is just one tall branch. I'm so mad at myself for trusting an online tree seller. I really thought since the price was close they would look similar but that is not the case at all at this point I dont even know if it is a weeping cherry because it looks nothing like the ones I've seen before. I've tried emailing and got no response and I've tried to review it on the website and both of the reviews I wrote are not showing up. They are very deceptive and I will never buy from them again!

Deceptive Sales Practices.
Immediately upon receiving an email from the Planting Tree I was interested in buying some Crepe Myrtle at the prices shown on the email. But when you try to add the items to the cart the prices advertised are not offered. The price doubles when added to cart.
I emailed the company and got a response that they were out of stock of the small crepe myrtle. All of the 16 different varieties shown were suddenly out of stock within an hour of them sending out an email advertising in stock and ready to ship! I emailed back with a screen shot of their advertised email prices and asked if they would honor their prices but they said no that they would not sell the larger (2'-4') for the advertised price of the smaller (1'-2') trees. I then asked to be removed from their email spam list and informed them that since they were sending out deceptive email ads that I could no longer do business with them and would be writing my experience in the form of reviews. I have since picked up a few 2'-4' Black Diamond Crepe Myrtle from my local Lowes at 1/4 the price of The Planting Tree, Dave's Garden or whatever other name they want to use to deceive perspective customers out of their hard earned money. Lowes offers an additional 10% discount for Veterans as well.
Do not buy from this company. Classic example of bait and switch advertising is practiced here. I would post pictures if it was possible. My google review will include false ad pictures.

Hi John,

We are sorry you had this frustrating experience with our sale. When an item is placed on sale it is size specific, for example, 2-3 gallon or 3-4 gallon plants. We try to keep the guidelines of the sale simple and transparent. The plant must be the size on sale and the sales are while supplies last.

There are times when the response to our sales is so abundant that we sell out very quickly. We realize this can be disappointing and for that reason we offer several sales a month to our customers.

Thank you for your feedback; we appreciate the opportunity to improve."

WARNING. I have never purchased from this company. I plan to never purchase from them because of their advertising. The Planting Tree ads have suddenly appeared on my iphone interrupting other ads. I wrote to The Planting Tree and received no satisfaction. The best I can do is label them as spam and not purchase from them.

We do not "spam". We replied to your email immediately explaining what you may be seeing. We can only assume you are referring to google ads. Google arranges their ads as they see fit. We do not choose this or control who sees our ads. You never ordered from our company so it seems a bit unfair for you give us a poor review for something we have no control over. We are a small family run company with excellent products. We genuinely care about our plants and our customers. "
