My three Kniphofia "High Roller" Red Hot Poker perennials just arrived in 5-star shape. In all my 50+ years of gardening never have I received such a top-quality plant. Their healthy roots are at least 10" long! I'm so glad I had the courage to order something from an Etsy ad. This business will be bookmarked for further shopping - it puts the professionals to shame.

I looked for some amazingly colorful clematis plants in all the local stores. I only found one kind -- at Walmart. It was in a dark green plastic bag, hanging with all the bulbs in dark green plastic bags. It was only $5. I bought it. I was expecting a ball of roots, and a stem or two, but I was shocked when I got it home, and discovered that the bag contained about a cup and a half of dirt, and a newly sprouted seed. The lone stem was less than two inches long, totally white, and had a couple of tiny leaves on it. I was so disappointed, but I planted it, and babied it, and although it's grown for about a month, it's still not as large as the clematis I received today from Bird Song Farm.

I looked at many sites online for more colorful clematis varieties. I found several, but the prices were really high. Then I looked on Ebay, and found Bird Song Farm. I ordered two different types of clematis, and a honeysuckle. I was concerned about the plants being shipped bare root, with the roots wrapped in wet newspaper, but for the cost savings, I took a chance.

The plants arrived today, and I'm so happy with them. They all had stems about six inches long with multiple leaves. And the roots on those clematis are far more than I expected -- Multiple thick roots, about eight inches long. The honeysuckle arrived wrapped in wet newspaper also, but the paper was wrapped around dirt that the honeysuckle was rooted in. Picture a plant that's been pulled from a small pot, and then the dirt and roots are wrapped in wet newspaper. All the plants look great!!! Each one came with a plastic "tag", showing a photo of the flower, and the name of the plant, just like the tags in the plants at the stores. Very impressive!

I have ordered clematis from birdsong farms over several years. I purchased a couple dozen. ALL have flourished and I used several for a living fence around my patio. It's beauty leaves passers by mesmerized. I was sick for 3 years, and they flourished anyway with little or no care. I ordered a couple more for an arbor I put up this year and they are doing great!

I was reluctant to order plants online, but I really wanted red clematis vines...so I took a chance and order 1 Niobe and 1 Rosemoor. I am thrilled with the plants. They have strong, healthy, full root systems. The vine was approx. 4-6 inches tall with multiple healthy leaves. The only problem with the order was the handling done by the USPS. My mail lady brought the package to my door because it had been damaged/crushed en route. But BSF hand-packaged the plants, and they had taken great care in protecting them for travel. Even though the box was crushed, the plants were fine. I'm extremely pleased with my experience with this grower. A++

I've been ordering from Bird Song Farms for a couple of years. High quality and great customer service. My last order of Clematis Bourbon, Daylily Huckleberry Candy, and Stella D'oro daylilies was wonderful. Healthy plants and ready to go. Highly recommended.

Ordered two honeysuckle plants. Plants arrived well packed and although small, they have excellent roots and should grow very nicely.

I ordered two clematis and a salvia, a small order. But I was treated as though I had spent a fortune! When the plants arrived, the roots were really large, the plants were extra healthy, and they are doing very very well. I am very pleased with my order and genuinely look forward to ordering more from Birdsong. I had an opportunity to communicate with Patti via email, and she was positively delightful! Very open and obviously loves what she is doing. All plants came with premade markers too.

I will go to Birdsong before I go elsewhere for live plants on the internet. It is nice to get the personal touch and super healthy plants.

I have ordered plants from them twice, & will do it again. They have all turned out nice. When you first get them they are small, but since they are being planted as perennials their first year, the next year they come back big & beautiful!!
