Honestly for the most part my order experience wasn’t bad. Let’s face it not all seeds will necessarily germinate. That can always be user error rather than the seller so for those having issues perhaps looking into the way you germinate rather then going straight to a bad review. No one can guarantee germination. Once out of their hands the germination process is on you the buyer. Honestly the packaging isn’t bad. I honestly feel they care, just a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately the only negative thing I have to say is they do lack badly in customer service. I have tried multiple methods of contact and multiple attempts and have not received anything back. Again I get they are busy, but you don’t want to lack in customer service. I am more than willing to return what I received that was incorrect for then correct item that I actually ordered. But my issue is even after multiple attempts via email from the website, messenger, and on their business page, I have not received anything. That is my only negative review. It’s only 1.00 I get it however it is nice to get what we actually order. I’m honestly not too upset as human error happens I would hope they just contact us back to correct it. To some nowadays 1.00 is a lot. Other then the lacking in customer service I would rate them pretty good :)

I placed an order two weeks ago today and have yet to receive any communication beyond the original confirmation email. I have contacted the email listed on the website and on the invoice and have gotten no response to either inquiry.

A previous order went differently which is why I made a second. Some notes about that experience:

One cost cutting method is using plastic ziploc baggies instead of paper envelopes. The resealing is nice, but the packets contain no growing information. As the proprietor mentions on their site, most of the information is available online, but if you are like me, be prepared for the extra step of writing notes on the packets. Elbow deep in soil is not a good time for a quick search of some stray detail I have forgotten.

One packet I received was mislabeled; it was marked as "coneflower" (Echinacea) when the seeds were in fact "cornflower" (Bachelor Buttons). Due to the similarity, it is likely a typo. This was an unrequested complimentary item, so it did not interrupt my planting, but made me a little nervous about some of the other seeds with which I am less visually familiar.

Otherwise, my first order had very fast turnaround and the seeds I have planted so far have had good germination rates. This makes my second ordering experience all the more disappointing and a real letdown. Retailers should not accept orders without fulfilling them.

My second order eventually arrived and the contents were correct. I’m very relieved that the order was fulfilled, but the difference in the level of communication and available information between my first order and second order was confusing. I never received any shipment information even though the package had a tracking number, and not being able to get a response via email caused me concern. However, the most important thing is that the items I paid for arrived and appear to be in order. Perhaps just be prepared for idiosyncrasies if you order from this store. It may be well worth it if they have what you want and time isn’t critical, because their prices really can’t be topped.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, when many garden centers were shut down, we have been flooded with many new orders, from many new customers. Our Customer Service may have dropped off some, only because we feel it is more important to get the orders out, than to spend our time chasing every order that the USPS delays delivery on. We do our best, and now have 6 full time employees and 2 part timers to try to keep us caught up."

I tried to contact Dollar Seed through email, facebook, webform for a few questions regarding their products. Never heard back. Facebook page is periodically updated but they don't seem to care at all. I like their prices but I'm irked to order from a company that is not accessible.

So I've been on the search for quality seeds at a budget price for a while. Nice to see that every one feels this company has quality customer service straight up. But has any one actually had any SUCCESS with their seeds yet?

That was kind of unfair. We have been selling seeds since 2010, and no one has said word one about our seeds not growing. In fact, we had a complaint recently regarding the germination rate of our garlic chives, and proved that it is better than stated on the package as we receive them. 95% to be exact. We are a small seed house, so our seeds are always fresh, unlike the large corporations that save seeds from year to year. In fact, we donate all seeds packaged for any particular year to the Cornell Cooperative Outreach Program to teach school aged children to learn sustainable living practices."

Add a payment method (American Exspress, VISA..). Only Paypal is just not enough. Best wishes, Bako.

This one baffled me. I contacted Paypal in regards to this complaint, and here is what they said: "Mr. Moffitt, Paypal accepts all major credit cards, bank debit cards, and electronic funds (e Check) transfers. We have enclosed a new graphic for your site that shows the "Blue" American Express card, though all American Express cards are an acceptable form of payment. Thank you for your inquiry. Respectfully, The Paypal Team".
Should anyone have a problem with purchasing from our store, please use our "Live Chat" and talk directly to me: David Moffitt the store owner. If it is offline and red, your questions or comments will be emailed to me, and I do respond to all wishes and concerns."
