These people never built any coops, even though many ads claimed to build coops to any specification, Yea! Nice try! more like the amish built to any specs. They used to claim to build them and have the amish drop ship them. If it wasnt for my coop being damaged and them not wanting to take responsibility I would have never known. From what I've read the owner was the Dad, The guy Dan I dealt with just helped him run the site. To make a bad story good, I eneded up getting my money back before they went out of business

This company has bad customer service, and the owner has stolen many ORIGINAL coop pictures claiming them as his own. He wishes he could do such nice work! Do not use this thief! He will rob you blind, and be terribly rude doing so. The coops are not as nice as promised and his prices are insane for the quality and service (or lack of!).

I am not a "competitor" and it is sad that you need to resort to convincing yourself of that. Most negative feedbacks are true, I am certain.

Buyer Beware.

I am having the exact same problem as "hmb" has posted. King coops stole pictures of coops my husband built in our garage and pictured in our driveway. He also posted them on craigs list and STILL has them listed for sale on his web-site. After repeated phone calls to him, he promised to remove them but they are still there! There is no way of knowing how many people he has stolen money from, selling them a product he doesn't own. We would NEVER sell to this man.

This was the worst nightmare we've ever had. We visited Dan and ordered a coop months before our chicks were due to arrive. He was very pleasant and gave us a price quote of $950.00. We put a large deposit down. The price soon went up to $1200.00. Eventually the chicks arrived and the price went up to $1600.00 but there was still no coop. When we declined the new price Dan became frighteningly abusive. We had to block his emails. Stay away! And don't let him know where you live. (We got a beautiful coop at our local lumber store for less money built by a man who had raised chickens himself.)

We are not a competor or any kind of a company at all, just small flock homeowners. This man will say anything to put one over on you.

Please post proof of this transaction between you and I. I have never sold a coop to anyone in greatneck, plus I give build contracts signed by both me and my customers stating the price cannot be changed once a deposit is given, If I would do that I break the contract and would then refund my customer in full. This is such crap, once again this is a competitor looking to gain business by putting down another. As I said, post the model you bought, proof of purchase or deposit and what I supposedly increased the price for, also include your contract between you and I then everyone can consider this a real complaint, unitl then keep your false comments to yourself and advertise more instead of putting down others to gain business"

Here at PlantWorksNYC we had a very bad experience with "King Coops". We ordered and Paid in full for a Gazebo, it was for a NYC Park project we were undertaking.

This was one of the most horrendous ordeals we have ever had to deal with. We paid in full ahead of time and were promised the finished work in two weeks with free delivery. A month later after many emails and phone calls, we were told that the project was over budget, he requested an extra $500 dollars and said it would take another two weeks.

So after a month and a half and an extra $500 dollars we finally got a call that out Gazebo was finshed and that we would have to arrange our own pick-up.

The Gazebo was nothing like what we were promised, over budget and never delivered for us as promised.

Save your self some grey hairs, money and time. Do not deal with "Dan" or "King Coops". Very bad businessman and shoddy workmanship. Not the way to conduct a proper business, very disappointing.

HERE'S ANOTHER FINE EXAMPLE OF A LOCAL COMPETITOR TRYING TO PUT ME DOWN TO GAIN BUSINESS OR JUST SOMEONE WITH A PERSONAL NADETTA. BE CAREFUL ADVERTISING OR USING THIS SITE, DAVES GARDEN WILL DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO BACK YOU UP SHOULD THIS GOD FORBID HAPPENS TO YOU.

Do not purchase anything from " King Coops" I ordered a deluxe chicken coop and was made to pay half up front.
They finally finished it 2 months later than promised, and it was nothing like what I ordered. I refused to purchase it, since I didn't want that to begin with and they refused to give me my down payment back. I am filing a civil suit against them for my down payment back.
This is a one man operation out of his home, he will not return any calls or emails, so don't even bother, just have your lawyer contact him in writing. Or take the smart way out, do not order anything from him and especially do not give him any money.

First of all I dont even know who you are and never built anything for you, and which coop was it that you ordered? What size or style was it? If you ordered one you should be able to provide those answers. I'VE NEVER BUILT A COOP THAT SOMEONE REFUSED! And payment in full is required before the coop is delivered, so you my good fellow are a liar. You would have had to pay the balance in order to see it when I pulled up with it. So how do you explain that if you only paid 50 %. See this is the bad thing about this board, anyone can be a competitor just trying to put down the competition, because you certainly didnt order any coop from me.?

HMMMMMMM, NO ANSWERS, NO PROOF, NO RECIEPTS? AND AS I SAID, AND YOU GAVE ME MONEY??? THATS SOMETHING, I ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL, ITS A SECURE TRANSACTION SHOULD ANYTHING TAKES PLACE AND PAYPAL FREEZES THE MONEY AND REFUNDS THE CUSTOMER, AND WHY HASNT YOUR LAWYER CONTACTED ME, BECAUSE YOUR A LIAR!! ITS A SHAME DAVES GARDEN DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP THEIR ADVERTISERS IN THESE SITUATIONS. THINK TWICE BEFORE ADVERTISING WITH THEM."

I ordered a coop from King Coops April 2009. I have had nothing but problems with this company!!! After waiting 2 months for my coop to be shipped, it was sent to my billing address in NYC, even though I was VERY clear that I needed the coop to be sent to Los Angeles. Dan, from King Coops, made an error in shipping and refuses to correct this problem. It is now my responsibility to get it sent from NYC to L.A., although he claims to have free shipping. I guess that is to where he feels like shipping it to instead where you ask it to go to. He does not answer his phone, nor does he return phone messages. The only way he will communicate is through email. This company has TERRIBLE customer service, and I can't say enough bad things about how they handle things. PLEASE do not shop with King Coops, you will be very sorry with your results.

"Victoria Kheel who has posted this negative feedback about me placed a claim with paypal. After finding out about this I called paypal, provided them with the tracking numbers for her coop that was delivered on June 18th and signed for. Paypal released the funds and leaned in my favor. They did this because: her packages were shipped to her VERIFIED PAYPAL address as all sellers are supposed to do for thier protection. Well it turns out her paypal adress is her accountants office in NYC and she lives in california. Now that she relised she screwed up and forgot thats what the paypal address is, she expected me to repay the $300 for shipping and re-ship it to california. So to make a long story short, she is lying to everyone because she is mad. Victoria, if you dont want stuff you purchase through paypal sent to NYC then you should change your address and stop blaming others. And if you dont cease the defimation of character I will be forced to contact my lawyer and file a law suite. I will be checking back, if this negative crap is not removed you basicaly will just be causing yourself more problems. I can provide anyone with the tracking numbers so that you may see yourself that her claim here is false and unless someone provides some actual proof, daves garden should not allow this as well."

Becareful what you order from King Coops, the coop I ordered was not the coop I got. It took three months to get my coop and then when I received it, it was broken in several places and is not the coop that was pictured on the website when I ordered. Now the owner says that the one on the website is the "deluxe" model that they no longer sell. The website did not say that- neither did King Coops- when I placed my order. It was only after I got my coop and complained, that the "deluxe" model appeared.

On Jun 21, 2009, King Coops responded with:

"I'm Dan From King coops. As far as the model you ordered, no one added anything to the site, the site says whatever it always says. As far as the coop, everyone who recieved thier coops are all very satisfied, you are the only one that has had a problem out of over 70 coops sold and shipped. I offer FREE shipping so the $200 or so It costs to ship is my problem, but just in case something may get damaged during shipping, I insure every package for $800 dollars. So actually you can put a claim in to fedex and not only keep your coop, but get refunded as well from fedex. I do this just in case something happens due to the gentle ways shipping companies handle packages. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience but thats no reason to go and warn anyone not to buy a coop. Take care everyone, and have a great fathers day and a happy 4th of july"
