I ordered items from the Nursery: non GMO Golden Bantam, Country Gentleman and Blue Lake pole beans. On the positive side this company provided excellent service and fast shipping but that was it.

By the time we got the seeds is was iffy as far as planting and harvesting these products. We were anxious to try the "Three Sisters" planting method. We planted two mounds of corn, 1 was Country Gentleman and the other was Golden Bantam. The country Gentleman broke thru in 8 days and, considering the weather here, has performed pretty well with an 80% germination rate. The Golden Bantam never broke ground and was abandoned. I took 10 more Golden Bantam seeds, placed them inside a wet paper towel and sealed it in a glad sandwich bag. After 8 days only 1 seed had sent out a tap root and broke off the moment the towel was opened.

I feel pretty good about next spring's planting of the country gentleman but I won't be ordering the bantam seed from this nursery again. I don't know if the seeds were old and repackaged or if the treating on the seeds is causing the problems but buyer beware of treated Golden Bantam from this nursery.

Germination rates can fluctuate significantly, depending on the environmental planting conditions, most significantly: light, temperature, and moisture. Under ideal conditions actual germination rates generally stay within about 5% to 15% of the current documented germination rate for each batch of seeds. Should you experience a "very low" or "zero germination" with your seeds that was not caused by local environmental planting conditions, just let us know and we will replace the seeds or refund the purchase price. We purchase our seeds from a wide range of regional and national (U.S. and International) suppliers as well as selected individual growers for some of our rare or unique varieties. Our suppliers provide the initial germination test information for each incoming "lot" of seeds. We conduct follow-up germination tests approximately every 3 to 6 months on all seed varieties in-stock. Occasionally, an individual seed lot will simply "crash" or show a sudden drop-off in germination from the previous test...it's not an evil plot, it's just Mother Nature throwing us a curve-ball. "

I ordered a packet of sprouting seeds from this company on ebay as part of a gift. The order went okay and my friend received the product quickly, but today I received an email from the company trying to scam me. The sender said he needed my help as he was traveling around europe with his family and I would be able to make some money. I emailed the store to confirm that the email had indeed come from them and got a reply that it had. What kind of reputable company would send an email like that?! I am a novice sprouter and love the seed blend idea, but will not buy from this company ever again and I've already reported them to Ebay!
