My attempt to unsubscribe to their emails has gone, numerous times, without success. Difficult to unsubscribe when you click on the button and the web page doesn't work.

Any company that doesn't respect those requests is violating the FTC's anti-spam legislation. It's going to come back to bite you in the butt, Plow and Hearth.

Had been looking at P&H $130.00 wind spinner to give as a gift, and when I recieved a 20%off promo. Decided to buy, but at checkout felt the $18.00 shipping was too high. Left item in cart.

The next day I recieved a email saying if I finished checkout of my cart I would get $4.99 shipping. Tried this several times without success. Left item in cart.

The next day this email: "Worried about shipping? Finish checkout now and recieve $4.99 shipping". No promo code, just click on link and discount will be applied at checkout. I did this but was charged $18.00 shipping. Attempted to call to cancel order, it was Sunday they were not open.

Early Monday I called to cancel. I was told I could not cancel as it had shipped. I explained what had happened, but was told (politely) over and over that only one promo could be used at a time. So, only recourse pay another $18.00 to return!

The next day I called again asking to speak to a supervisor, but again was told over and over the one promo rule, and that there was nothing they would do. Why then did they keep sending emails enticing me to continue my checkout? I do not believe they even have supervisors as they have no intention of dealing with customers. Their advertising on line is very deciptive. In my opinion bait and switch.

I twice attempted to post this very review on P&H site. Guess they do not publish negative reviews. For anyone thinking of buying from this company, compare the reviews on P&H site to those on Dave's Garden and Yelp. Buyer beware!!

Ordered by mail on 11/17/15, 3 bulb gardens to be sent as Christmas presents. My phone number but not email address were on the order form. This was after calling P&H the day before and finding out total cost for items including shipping. My check cleared two weeks later per bank. No reply from gift recipients at Christmas. I called P&H on 12/29 was told that order was cancelled as out of stock and I had been notified by email in early December and a rebate check had been mailed? Untrue, because they did not get my email addy until I emailed them on 12/27 asking about order status. Lack of reply to that email was reason for call. I was told to wait a week,check was coming. It did not. Called again around 1/4 and told sorry will check on it and let me know. They did not call back I called again on 1/12 . Was told request being sent to "payment department" for check to be sent to me. I requested that they telephone-not email me the next day to confirm. . They did not call and no check has arrived here.

Order Date 1/5/15, Double Armchair & Table, Item 39228NT, Order No. W0009584001, Very dissatisfied with purchase. One of lag screws needed a different size hex key (not included). One lag screw had metal piece in hole where hex key should go. I had to drill it out. Design of the chair is very poor. Instructions were not clear, particularly the fact that the parts were not identical and had to be put together in a specific order. Finally, there were two bolts that were too long to be inserted in the hole provided. This made assembly near impossible and resulted in both seat backs being damaged to finish assembly. Returning an item this large is not feasible (design is just flawed). Waiting for new bolts would have been a waste of time. I will not shop at P&H again, nor will I ever recommend them again.

When my wife called Customer Service they indicated the carpet was two weeks past the 1 year warranty and did not have any obligation to replace the carpet, which of course, as my wife explained had been deteriorating over the course of time. I ordered tier curtains and valance using my first time user promo discount (which waived shipping cost). When they arrived they looked cheap. I returned them as is. I was shocked to see them not only charge me a return fee (as they have not so conspicuosly shown on their website) but also slap me with the original shipping cost!
Not only is that a "you keep it we like you enough to bear your shipping by offering you a discount, but you return it we dont know you" attitude - but also when I chatted and called them on phone to discuss this they were adamant about it.
So if you ever buy here and return (which they treat as a crime) - you not only lose your one time discount (this I accept) but are also responsible for the original shipping cost (of which there is no mention anywhere).
I have not seen any service so not customer and return friendly.
Even if that were their twisted policy they could have waived it one time to establish good will with a first time user like me. But apparently they don't care. I am never buying again with them.

On Friday I called customer service explaining that I had just received the plant stands 2 days ago and asked if they would credit me the difference so I would pay the sales price. The CS rep said she could not make that decision and that I would hear back from someone in a few days.

On Saturday I received an email saying that they would not credit me the difference. Every retailer I have EVER purchased from (including the discount chains) has extended this courtesy if I have discovered that an item that I recently purchased has just gone on sale. I had only had the item for 2 days!

This is such poor customer service, no customer wants to feel like they were taken advantage of. Needless to say, I will not be shopping with P&H again and will return the plant stands as they are still in the box. They have lost a customer and I won't recommend them to anyone.

After three calls and three different numbers I found out my order had been canceled. They ran out of stock and were not honoring the price for any back orders. I would not have found out unless i had called in to change other details of the order.
