I have ordered products from this company twice now.
My first order, though a tiny bit later than the quoted shipping date, was very satisfactory. My second, on the other hand, was not. I ordered several products on this occasion, and was very excited when the package arrived on the expected date. Unfortunately, upon examining the packages contents i found that the item I had been most eager to receive was not included. Instead there was a note informing me that that particular item was currently out of stock, and that I had the option of contacting them to either request a refund or wait for the stock to renew. This was fair enough in my opinion, I mean, stuff happens. So I emailed them to request that they just send me the product when their supplies were renewed. They responded promptly, and were apologetic about the inconvenience and quoted about a month for the item to ship out.
I was frustrated by the inconvenience of having to wait a month longer than I had expected, but at least they were taking care of it, right?
Now here we are a full year later and I have not received one word from KT. I have even tried to email them and have gotten no response. It is a shame that a company I had such hope for would show such little respect to a polite and honest customer.
A real shame.

Don't waste your time and especially money with these crooks! My first and only order with them was a disaster. First, one plant that I ordered, a kava plant, was actually a root beer plant( a closely related kava cousin). I emailed them about this and received no response. Secondly, I've been waiting 4 months for the rest of my order( a packet of seeds and a kratom plant).I emailed them 3 months ago about not receiving these 2 items and they replied that I would have these items in 2-3 weeks. Three months later and no seeds, plants, or explanations. I wished I had read the reviews about these scammers before I sent them my hard earned money! Learn from my mistake, DON'T SEND YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

There are so many reasons to give this company a negative feedback. First off, they lie, lie, lie. Second off, they DO cut their Kratom. They even admitted it to me (unknowingly to them). That is why all you people are complaining about their stuff seeming so low grade and cheap. It's because its not pure! It's cut with other inert plant material so they can stretch it out and make more money off all of us.

My last order took a month to get to me. Even though they charged my credit card as soon as I placed the order. They didnt tell me they didnt have it in stock when I purchased... I had to wait until weeks passed by and I contacted them asking whats up? Then they make up excuses, um we cant get it just yet, etc. Then it comes finally, weak as crap (because they cut it with who knows what just so they could ship me out something). Dont trust what they write about their products on their website. Its not true! They just write whatever will sell the product, and that's what they do!

Please, do not waste your time and money on them. Go somewhere else!! Anywhere else but here. They do not deserve the money ripping people off online like this. Youre in for a heartache and stress and a cheap product if you get roped into buying from KtBotanicals. 2013 review here. This is a recent experience.

BobDillon,

We want to start off by saying that we are very surprised by this review, we do our best to provide the highest quality botanicals and loyal customer service. We do not lie or make false claims about any of our materials, if something is out of stock or unavailable we let you know and usually offer you the option of a refund or an exchange, we always want to leave satisfied customers. These are very rare herbs and we do our best to keep our stock availability high for our customers. Also, as for cutting material, we have never done this and will never do this, there is simply no need for it whatsoever. Therefore, we would have never even insinuated something to that effect because it just would never happen. Batches and strains can vary in potency, but we really do source the best material, in terms of our raw Kratom and our extracts. If you did not prefer the strain that you ordered, we would have been more than happy to send you out another strain, please email us and we can take care of any further concerns you may have."

I have recently received an order of mitragnia speciosa from KT botanicals and was unhappy with the quality, I emailed them to ask if they might have sent me the wrong product because the particular listing comes in two grades and it seemed as though I had the non superior type.
They did not bother to reply, as such I attempted to post a review to give an honest but polite and balanced opinion that would be available to other buyers. The review was not entered on their site, I later found that they vet all reviews to ensure no critisism.
I have ordered from KT previously and have had no complaints, but feel that I have been thoroughly disregarded on this occasion.

I've ordered from KT Botanicals numerous times over the past several years and have always been pleased with the quality of their products.

Although shipping has been slow at times, I recently had an experience in which my shipment was thought to have been caught in the sorting machines at the post office because it wasn't received in the usual time frame. I finally did receive my shipment much later...which consisted of one empty bag and a note of apology from the USPS. LOL!

I recently ordered again and I mentioned this unfortunate event and asked them to send me my previous order if, by any chance, it was returned to them by the USPS. (I had yet to receive my empty bag at that point.) I had not purchased insurance and didn't expect to be reimbursed. But they went above and beyond the call of duty to resend the entire order that had been destroyed at no extra charge.

I was very impressed with the proactive steps they took to make sure I was satisfied, and I feel certain that they would never intentionally bilk their customers. If something goes wrong with an order, they're more than willing to make it right with the customer and will go to great lengths to do so.

On my latest order, they bent over backwards to ship it to me as quickly as possible and I received it in record time. Again, I was very impressed and very grateful for the speed at which they processed my order.

While it can be confusing to get an electronic shipping notification when the shipment has yet to leave their building, I do believe that they run a highly reputable business and their product selection is fantastic!

I look forward to placing many more orders with them in the future. Thank you, KT Botanicals. You're the absolute BEST!

I had truly hoped KT Botanicals had upgraded its customer service recently, but it seems I was wrong.

I placed another order early on Monday and can already see the old pattern of ultra-slow shipping emerging, along with no response to emails and no movement toward sending my package to the post office. Of course, I received the electronic shipping information shortly after I placed the order. But since then, nothing. Nada. Zilch. The tracking number isn't even showing up on the USPS track and confirm site.

It seems like what I thought was a customer service transformation is a mirage. This is quite disappointing to me as I was hoping to buy some products wholesale from them in the near future. But that's not going to happen if I can't depend on timely shipping--and now, it appears that I can't.

Like it or not, we live in an age where good customer service is almost a given. If you can't keep up with orders and ship the order in a few days' time, you're bound to have scores of unsatisfied customers. It's not that I'm unwilling to wait for a good product, it's that I don't like to wait unnecessarily because of poor customer service.

KT Botanicals CAN ship quickly. But I've been the beneficiary of it only twice in the past few years and their shipping is uneven at best.

I still think they do a wonderful job in the area of ethnobotanical research. Where they fall far short is customer service and shipping. If they could only address this shortcoming and improve their system, I imagine they could easily increase the number of satisfied customers.

Sadly, at this point, I'm not one of them.

I've really tried to give KT the benefit of the doubt several times, but once again I placed an order that was placed more than a week ago and it has yet to be shipped.

I have read the FAQs and according to those, orders should be processed within 1 to 3 business days. In my case, it's now been more than 5 business days and only the electronic shipping information has been received by the USPS. Love KT's products (which are hard to find elsewhere), but their service still needs a LOT of work. If it weren't for their slow-as-molasses shipping process, I'd give them a positive rating without a second thought.

If you do order from them, just be willing to wait weeks before you see your order. Set low expectations from the start and you won't be disappointed.

I ordered products from KT on 8/29/11 and received an e-mail that my order had shipped on 9/2. Thus far I haven't had any package from KT Botanicals and my e-mails went unanswered. I have never had such poor customer service from any company that I have thus far dealt with. If they just sent accurate tracking info I would know where and when my order would be delivered. I would really like this matter resolved as I hope too place many future orders. Their selection is truly awsome.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

If you do, here's what you can expect:

-He will tell your item is shipped. But in actuality, it wont be. Not until at least 3 days later. HE WILL LIE TO YOU. If he is willing to you about this, then he is willing to lie to you about other things. An untrustworthy vendor, is no vendor at all in my book.

-He will charge you $6.70 to ship your product first class mail.

-The product will be of low quality, or it wont even be the right product. My last order, I got something completely different than I ordered. Good thing I burned a very small amount! I can't imagine what would have happened if I didn't.

-He will most likely never respond to your emails, and if the snot nose punk thinks your question is worthy of his time... Then there is a good chance he will take his sweet time in answering it.

-This guy professes to have "good customer service". Although in actuality, a monkey could provide much much better service.

-He will give you your order in an oversized bag, causing most of the material to stick to the side of the bag. This can be a huge headache, if you're try to burn your incense on the go.

Hello Jack and other Dave's Garden members. I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Travis. I am the Chief Operations Officer of KT Botanicals and as such, I oversee, among other things, all of the shipping and receiving activities for KT Botanicals. I'd like to start off by saying that KT Botanicals has shipped over 11,000 orders already this year. 11,000 orders have gone out in these past 4 months and we've received 2 complaints during that time, both of which are from first time posters on this board. We've been providing our loyal customers with quality botanicals for years and never have complaints about our product quality. In fact, 74% of our revenues come from our REPEAT customers. Our advertising budget is 0 dollars- We don't need to advertize to attract business because our reputation speaks for itself in the ethnobotanical community.

On to Jack.

Jack, since you didn't leave any information regarding your order, such as an order number, an order date, an order amount, what you ordered, or any sort of substantiating evidence of you actually being a customer whatsoever, I have attempted to locate you in my investigation of this issue. I have searched through my customer database and cannot seem to locate any Jacks from Santa Rosa. I'll address some of these issues regardless of you not disclosing who you really are, what you ordered, or anything else that would substantiate any of your libelous claims.

1, When an order is printed for processing, a shipping label is printed out with a tracking number which is emailed to the customer. The order is then marked as shipped. It gets processed generally the same day and is dropped off to the post office. We are perfectly clear about our processing and shipping times in our terms and conditions and in our FAQ which is posted on the home page, on the order confirmation page, and on our contact us page. This FAQ is impossible to miss unless you are actively trying not to see the large, bold, red letters that respectfully ask you to read the FAQ and understand our policies. From our FAQ:
" Most orders normally take between 1-3 BUSINESS days to process, and 2-7 POSTAL days in postal transit within the US. Some orders may take longer depending upon what you ordered."

2. Jack, what did we lie to you about? Untrustworthy? Jack, what is your REAL name and what is your order number?

3. We charge a flat shipping rate of $5.95... not $6.70 for smaller orders (up to 1.5lbs) From there, it goes to priority mail flat rate boxes.

4. Jack if we sell such low grade products and don't send you the right stuff, why did you place this "last" order with us?

5. Whatever it is that you are burning, it seems to me that you are misusing and abusing our products which is a direct violation of our terms of service and most likely illegal in your state or territory.

6. If we don't respond to an email, its likely because the question has already been answered in the FAQ, which we clearly state on the contact us page: "We Will NOT Respond To Questions That Have Already Been Addressed In Our FAQ!" Other inquiries that we don't answer include abusive emails, emails inquiring about subjects that we cannot legally answer (i.e. how much of XYZ should I burn to achieve ABC effects), emails that are in excess i.e. emailing every hour for days at a time.

7. I'm a snot nosed punk... who holds a graduate degree in his field of study and caters his business to legitimate researchers, universities, health care professionals, and responsible individuals that hold a true respect for sacred and medicinal plants and for those who dedicate their lives to further the research on these plants. I don't know you at all, but you just don't seem to fit that bill.

8. If a monkey can provide better service, maybe its time you open up your very own shop, you'de be your number one customer and solve points 1-7 above!

9. Our bags are 4X6 inch 2 mil poly zip bags- Industry standard bags. When they make non stick teflon coated bags, I'll start buying them.

Again Jack, your continuous references to burning substances, even while on the go, your concern with the small amount of residue sticking to the bag, as well as your angry disposition in general, seems to indicate that you are abusing some of these plants rather than legitimately researching them and whats worse is that you are letting the world know about it through your posts here. Its rather unfortunate that you don't have a better outlet for your issues than posting libelous comments on Dave's Garden.

Interesting- "Jack" from Santa Rosa never did answer ANY of the PM's sent to him nor did he provide an order number, legitimate contact info, or anything to substantiate ANY claims made against our company. I love it when the competition does this! This industry has changed quite a bit in recent years, thats all I have to say."

I placed a small order with this company (roughly $20) on 2/17. On 2/18, I received a delivery confirmation number that showed electronic transmission only - meaning that the label was purchased but not yet used, so the order had not yet been shipped. My credit card was charged about two days later.

After two weeks, the label still did not show shipment. I sent an email requesting a status update - no reply. I waited another week, and sent another email, this time saying that I would be disputing the charge with my bank if I still received no response - still no reply. At this point, it has been close to a month since the order was placed and over three weeks since my credit card was charged, and there has been no indication that anything has shipped yet, and no response to either of my emails. I will be disputing the credit card charge on Monday.

I do not recommend purchasing anything from this company - they seem to be very hit or miss with their orders, and there are plenty of other companies that you can use instead, that ship items in a timely manner.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE!!! Company is an outright scam. I paid over $80 for salvia foliage and 20x salvia extract as advertised. What I received looked like dead leaves from your standard backyard leaf dump and charcoal dust. 3 different people confirmed this stuff was absolute garbage. Even worse, after my repeated email inquiries, this company refused delivery of the goods when I paid additional shipping to return them. Now I'm out almost $100. The order was packed by "Travis" and the return was authorized by someone claiming to be "Tyler."
