While in Berlin for business, I found it very difficult to find certain items that I am usually accustomed to purchasing in the states. I was happy to know that KT Botanicals was willing to accomodate my request to ship my items overseas because I was in desperate need of these items. I suffer from anxiety and being stuck in meetings all day with foreign clients seemed to amp up that anxiety.

When all said and done, I got the package via Air Mail in 7 days. Not bad at all for a trans-atlantic shipment. The items were of good quality and have really helped me out alot.

Will be back when I run out. My invoice was hand signed by "K.C." which was a nice touch.

My order # 14403 from 11/11/10 has not been recieved.
It has been 12 work days since it was "shipped".
Money involved: about $70.00.

On December 4th, 2010, ISHMAEL changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

Apparently, the best way to contact this company is through this message board. I received a call from the company within 15 minutes of posting my disappointment.

I do not buy their reasoning. I received other plants in the mail this same week. I am an orchid grower and botanist who studied under Dr. Chin Chi Lin. I am familiar with what plants can take.
I ordered on 11/11 and stated in the "special instructions box" on their order form to "ignore the weather. Ship immediately. Email me if you can not."
(FAQ states that items ordered after 12/1 will be held until Spring)
They sent me an email stating my item was shipped when in fact, it was not. I took days off to wait for the mail. I was sorely disappointed.
This is the type of customer service I would expect from two kids operating a company out of their mother's garage.
My wife has also "banned" me from using this company.
Thank God for Ebay.

This customer ordered two very cold-sensitive tropical plants in the middle of an East Coast winter. Tropical plants that are grown in 85 degree greenhouses, must be acclimated to withstand the low light, low humidity, and cold temperature conditions that they will endure during the shipping process. This takes a MINIMUM of 1 week acclimation if the plants are expected to stand any chance of arriving in living condition.

Present weather conditions for the customer's destination feature daytime highs of 30 degrees with night time lows of 20 degrees.

We received a negative rating on Dave's Garden as the primary communication regarding this customer's order- Not an email, not a phone call- Just a negative review. Tactful. After reading the review, we immediately called the customer to explain the acclimation process but the customer abruptly responded with "I don't F*** around."

We don't either. Order canceled, money refunded, customer banned."

Hey Dave's Garden, I wish I read all of these reports before I ordered from this company!

I got sucked into the same hole as a lot of you - waited over a week for my items to be shipped - and I'm currently getting the run-around. Dishonest at best. I live in Los Angeles and ordered simply because of the proximity. I hope nobody else makes that mistake.

I placed a small order (4 items/ ~$60) on the 2nd. The invoice on the website said "shipped on the 4th" (didn't even reach the post office until the 8th according to the tracking). I contacted him earlier about an order cancellation on the 6th, no response.

He has no problem responding timely when it comes to a purchase inquiry, but when it comes to following through or assisting problems, he is no where to be found.

Not having supplies that you claim to have (ie. items actually in stock) OR not being able to keep track of your inventory is one of the most unprofessional characteristics of any businessman. Even worse, using it as an excuse to a customer just irks me even more. Why should your problems be mine? Is it really that hard to be organized?

On November 13th, 2010, scotched added the following:

Hey KT Botanicals -

Although my package was *prepared* (shipping label printed) on the 4th - the fact remains, it wasn't shipped until the 8th!

I see you've stated facts about your company, but you said nothing about your lack of customer service.

I WANTED to cancel my order on the 6th (after fully understanding your policy of a possible 10 day wait time) AND the fact that you couldn't even tell me if an item was in stock.

Sent emails to cancel my order (well before it was shipped), NO RESPONSE.
A rep from KT gives me a call the DAY my order arrives, for what? You couldn't call me earlier when I actually needed help?

Like other comments below; I believe this company does not have actual stock, and simply drop ship orders as they get 'em.

Their products aren't bad, but it's clear that a SALE is more important to KT botanicals, than their customers' assurance and peace of mind.
On November 16th, 2010, scotched changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

KT refunded my costs (November 15th) on their own (without my asking), and didn't ask me to return any items either.

I appreciate the gesture even more than the refund, shows these guys care.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

I ordered $250 worth of egyptian blue lotus 2 months ago, no lotus has arrived, and I have tried many times to contact KT botanicals with NO REPLY and NO REFUND. I am an herbalist who does not have an abundance of money to lose. Some of this order was for students of mine, so I had to refund their money out of my own pocket.

I have never had this bad of an experience ordering online from any company IN MY LIFE. There is no way to contact them, or to ensure that your money is safe. You will lose your money if you order from them, you will not receive your order, and they will not respond back to you even if you flood them with emails.

I cannot believe they can get away with this, I am going to take as much legal action as I can. This is stealing people's money with no regard for ethics or legality at all.

After a couple months since my order, I did finally receive word from KT botanicals. The day that I posted this review my money was refunded, and they did contact me. They sent the lotus order without charge, and called me many times asking to take down the negative reviews.

I am very grateful the money was refunded, and the lotus was sent. However I was not happy about the many phone calls and the requests/demand to take down the negative reviews. I am a very busy person running a business and did not have the time right away to write update my negative reviews. This is part of the consequence of treating customers the way they did.

I am not sure if I had not written this (and a few other) negative reviews if my money would have been refunded, and the lotus sent.

I will not work with KT botanicals again, but I am very thankful they refunded the money, and sent the lotus free of charge which they did not have to do, and I realize this.

Blessings.

Tyler is one of those rare people in the ethnobotanical world who spends his time researching alternate means to help people. Look at his personal product line-up- Anxiet-Ease, Extra Strength Pain Support, Xuan Xia, and his many exlcusive products. He is a busy man, running what has now become a very large company that supplies many of the other shops on the net with their goods- There is good reason behind his successes. Believe it or not, my first order from them was when they were on Ecrater! It's amazing how things have changed since then! Most important here is what was said above. Tyler is quite an asset to the ETHNOBOTANICAL community. His service is not exclusively with Kratom or Salvia like some of these other shops, nor should it be, as he sources and ships thousands of rare medicinal species to and from all over the world. His store is for the interested and ethno-researcher. Hats off to Tyler and KT Botanicals.

Let me tell you about KT Botanicals. I have been with these guys and gals since their inception and they have always treated me kindly and gotten my orders shipped out in a reasonable time-frame (delivery in about a week). If an issue EVER came up, Tyler and his employees have always been more than fair in resolving it, which is more than I can say for most companies that I have dealt with. I have bought literally thousands of dollars in specialized herbs and extracts from them and have always been satisfied with their product quality, prices, and service. The real gem about buying from these guys is that they are the real deal and have an almost encylopedic knowledge of their field. Their competence, makes me confident in buying from them because I know that I will receive exactly what I order at the potency stated on their site.

You can't go wrong with KTB!

KT Botanicals is a pilar in the ehtnobotanical community. For us researchers, Tyler's work is invaluable. He provides us with the plants we demand, at a price we can afford, and at a quality that we simply can't find elsewhere. They have been around for a long time and aren't a new kid on the block by any means and it bothers me to see a post such as this one. Surely, the below post will be resolved or removed within the next few weeks. Tyler, any words on this one? I refuse to believe that this man or his company ripped anyone off. I have yet to hear of any one of my MANY MANY refferals to KT Botanicals ending up anything less than completely satisfied with their business dealings.

Keep on the cutting edge KTB, you were made to do what you guys do and know that you have an almost cultish following behind you!

The shipping was fast and the packaging was well marked. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has stress or anxiety issues.

I've bought different items from KT Bot. before and Tyler is always great about getting back to me w/ any questions I have.

My latest transaction was for 1g of 50x Mitragyna Speciosa extract, as well as a sample of the Anxiet-Ease herbal concoction capsules. Good communication through-out the process, and the delivery was prompt as well....

The 50x is an amazing product... Nothing out there of it's kind. Great aroma that smoldered for hours!! :)

I haven't tried the Anxiet-ease yet, as I am waiting on some anxiety... Will review on my forum when I try them.

I made three purchases from K.T. BOTANICALS, one was made on 10/15/09, the other two were made on 10/16/09. Order # 8424 was received very quickly without any problems, however I never received the other two orders(#8414 and #8417) nor have I received any tracking numbers. I have made two attempts to contact them by way of e-mail and they have not responded. I am part of a research team that is currently conducting research. KT botanicals came highly recommended as a ethnobotanical company that not only acted with responsibility but also offered quality botanicals. I am aware that on their web site they mention that customer service is not their highpoint, a better word to use would be non-existent. I cannot get any response from them, thus I will just dispute it with my credit card company and find a company that values customers. Your product was great, your communication and customer service is horrible.

I placed an order on July 12. I received an email July 20 saying it had shipped. (Yay!) On July 23 I received a phone call from someone who received my order instead of his own. My address and phone number were on the enclosed invoice, but the package was addressed to him.

Anyone can make a mistake, and I was not upset. I sent KT Botanicals an email letting them know what had happened. I did not receive a response, but they did charge my credit card on July 24.

So, I sent another email, hoping maybe the first one went astray. Still no response. I waited a week and sent another email. No response. I still don't have my order, the company has not taken responsibility for their mistake, and there is still a charge (not an authorization - a charge) on my credit card.

I realize KT Botanicals does not claim to offer great customer service, and I respect that decision. But I did expect to actually receive a product for my money.

On August 19th, 2009, NancyD_LMT changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

I sent one last email on 8/15, once again described the mistake on my order, and let KT Botanicals know that I had, regretfully, begun the dispute process with my CC company. On August 18, I received a very sincere apology, my credit card was refunded, and Tyler offered to send my order free of charge.

I do believe this is a very ethical company. As they state, they offer only average customer service, and this helps to keep prices low. I have no issue with this.

But they also imply that their customer service via email is excellent during business hours, and that emails will be answered in a timely manner (1 to 2 days) as long as you don't ignore the guidelines listed in their FAQ.

So, I'll upgrade them to a neutral, since they eventually did answer me and did the right thing. I feel confident that most orders go through without a hitch, and that I was probably the victim of a rare mistake. And they simply are not set up to efficiently deal with mistakes.

"On May 9, 2009 12:21 PM, KT Botanicals responded with:

Hi Nick,

I'm sorry that we're having a misunderstanding here. Let me attempt to clarify how this works. On the live plants page, we try to be up front about when you should expect your plants or cuttings in large, bold, red font: "If you wait until early spring to place an order, there may be a delay of up to 4-6 weeks as customers who reserved plants during the winter months will have their orders shipped out first." http://www.ktbotanicals.com/live-plants-c-3.html

Additionally, in our FAQ, which we respectfully ask all customers to read before ordering, after ordering, and again before contacting us, we address this matter in no uncertain terms:

"I ordered live plants from you and its been 3 weeks and I don't have my plant. What's going on?

When you purchase a live plant, you are putting a deposit on the next available plant. All live plant orders are subject to availability as explained on the live plant page. Some plants ship out next day, others may take 4-6 weeks to get to you. The reason for this is because we are not a nursery and some plants and cuttings are shipped from private contract growers, others are grown here upon the receipt of your order. When you purchase a live plant you are reserving your plant so that when it becomes available, it will be yours. This helps to keep our plant inventory to a minimum such that we do not have 200 plants to upkeep daily."

http://www.ktbotanicals.com/faq.html

Your order was sent to our private grower on the 13th and was marked off in our system as "shipped". This is not an indication that we have physically shipped your plant, but rather that we have put the order in for your plant or cutting to be shipped to you as it becomes available- As per our terms and conditions of sale. It has presently been 4 weeks and our window of delivery for this particular item at this particular point in the season is 4-6 weeks as stated numerous times on the site.

Did you happen to read the Live Plants page, the FAQ, or the Contact Us page before publicly complaining to millions of people on the internet? We do our very best to be up front and honest about when you should expect your order, but if you miss the big bold red lettering that explain these things in multiple locations on the site, I don't know what to tell you.

Nick was refunded 12:20pm PST May 9 2009"
