Aside from a few unhappy leaves, they really do look to be in beautiful shape. Although shipping was pretty late in the season (probably due to Covid delays), they communicated after a short delay and shipped them well. They were well packaged. This was the only mail-order nursery I found selling some of these varieties, so I am happy to see the quality of the plants. |

Well they ended up refunding my whole order and effectively canceling it. I am so confused by their customer service I will not give it a negative but I've found nurseries closer to me with a more professional website. |

They finally ship the female seaberry to me. It looks completely different from the one I got before. The one they shipped to me this time is a nice plant about 2' tall. It is not like the first one we got which is only 6" high and single branch plus, dead. I should correct my above comment: One Green World did back their product. It just took a bit longer. |
Neutral | Miller13 (2 reviews) | On May 20, 2013, Miller13 Nibley, UT wrote: I had a similar experience with this company as the previous reviewer. My order was supposed to ship the week of April 15. For the next two weeks they kept giving me a run around: "your order is being prepared for shipping and will ship today or tomorrow". Apparently, their ordering department has no idea what is happening at the shipping department and they simply tell you whatever comes to their minds. Finally someone I talked to on the phone called their shipping department and informed me that my order was ready except for one grape that was not ready to ship yet. It was supposed to be ready next week (i don't really know how that's possible) but i was told that if i canceled the grape my order would ship that same day. I canceled and it was indeed shipped that day. |

I don't know why I didn't get it the first time, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Still, advertising products you don't have isn't a great way to do business, but since they were at least courteous, I am upgrading them to neutral. |
Neutral | 5finadene3 (9 reviews) | On Apr 11, 2012, 5finadene3 Lock Haven, PA wrote: I ordered 16 fruit trees this year(2012). When they arrived, I opened the boxes right away. The roots were totally dry. They had been packed in sawdust. wrapped in newspaper and then in plastic bags. The large staples used to close the boxes had punctured the plastic bags, allowing the roots to dry out. I attempted to rehydrate the trees and planted them within a few days. I emailed the company about this problem and got no reply. Time will tell if i change this rating to negative or not. Also, almost all of the trees were branchless whips, unlike the advertized trees. Another issue- Their planting and pruning directions are not species specific. At this point, I would say to spend the extra $5 and buy from Raintree. I've ordered from them in the past and had no complaints. |

Neutral | gardeningana (2 reviews) | On Nov 12, 2010, gardeningana Beaverton, OR wrote: My advice: Buy OneGreenWorld plants from good local nurseries. A reputable nursery will add a layer of quality control and probably provide a refund or replacement should there be issues with the plant/tree. Many have a one year guarantee. Your local nursery can probably special order any plant for you if they don't carry it. |

And they had many MILDEW/MOLD/FUNGUS related issues (they probably overwintered in some dark and wet storage place before getting shipped out). |
Neutral | RadicleGirl (3 reviews) | On Nov 20, 2009, RadicleGirl Williams, OR wrote: The owners have provided a unique array of woody perennial fruit-bearing bushes and trees. An impressive selection, but I prefer to buy organic, which these folks are not. As for pricing, I found the rare and unusual plants (e.g. honeyberry) to be reasonably priced, while a smattering of common plants (e.g. cinnamon vine, horseradish) were distinctly overpriced. Knowing all this, I decided to give them a try, but when my bilberry plants came they were very weak and only a couple of them made it through to the first season. The ones that did make it prospered, though, and were correctly identified, which was great. I'd have to rate my overall experience as neutral. |
Neutral | wardwell5 (1 review) | On Apr 26, 2007, wardwell5 East Greenwich, RI wrote: I've ordered from OGW for the last three years and find this company very frustrating to deal with. The reason I continue to order from them is their selection. I want very much to support a company working to find sources of rare and unusual plants, but the bottom line is this - I can never predict what I'll get - from customer service to planting info to quality of the plants. Two years ago, I placed a large order and explained that I would be on vacation in Europe, and gave them very specific dates that I would be away. I live in RI, so this was a long ship for the plants. I suggested air freight, but the person I spoke with said it would not be necessary and would only take 4 days to get here. I agreed and returned from vacation to find that my plants had arrived 4 days before I returned from vacation and were left in the hot sun in 80F weather. And while the plants were very well packaged, their health was in question. I asked for all the plants to be re-shipped -some had broken branches, others seemed to have leafed out in the box and wilted. They suggested I plant them and keep them well-watered. I agreed then, and now wish I had persisted. I was told the person I spoke with was fired and made many mistakes with my order related to shipping. Now, most of the smaller plants I ordered (seaberries, lingonberries, honeyberries, blueberries, winterberries) have died. I will say though, the larger trees/bushes I ordered rebounded after one year in the ground and have recovered. Having read the comments on this site about others with similar problems, I doubt I'd be able to get credit for them now, given their diminishing guarantees. I went through many calls back and forth with their customer service people and just barely got a few of the plants replaced that were dead or very damaged. This year, I was pleased to find that they have finally started to build their website. When I emailed to ask why they did not have Site and Soil info, and many of the plants do not have pictures yet, I was told to read the website where the information was provided. Apparently customer service doesn't pay attention to their own website. Once I asked the woman to please go to her website, she discovered her error. I also asked for a catalog, but never received one (2nd year in a row they had trouble getting me a catalog). I'm ready to place a good size order again this year, but will look into other nurseries. OGW has great selection ,but I can't afford to be out another $300+ in plants and another year behind in plant growth if I have more quality or shipping problems. |
Neutral | ckrembs (4 reviews) | On Mar 10, 2007, ckrembs Seattle, WA wrote: I very much like the varieties they offer but was a little disapointed about the small size of plants e.g fig tree. Compared to Raintree nursery their plants are smalles but healthy. Their packing system could be improoved but if plants break they really make an effort to replace them with a really nice plant. |

Neutral | doghill6 (37 reviews) | On Feb 12, 2005, doghill6 Central Point, OR (Zone 8a) wrote: We have ordered from this company before and have been very pleased. I was going to order this year, and was disappointed to find they are not taking orders on their website. So I called them during their business hours and got a recording. They invited me to leave my name and number and I did that. I also said that I wanted to place an order. No one ever called back, so I ordered from another company. I guess that is really more of a negative experience, but maybe there is some explanation. On February 13th, 2005, doghill6 added the following: They called me back 3 days later but by then they had lost my business. They didn't give an explanation for the delay in the message they left, so I don't think I'll bother to order next year. |

After a week in transit, of the 5 asian pear trees that I ordered, several had broken side branches. I got them in the ground immediately and the leaf buds are starting to swell slightly but I have got to say I think they are all off to a shakey start. I might also mention that they nearly broke their neck charging the trees to my visa. I just wish that they shown as much speed getting my trees out to me. |
Neutral | Sexauer3 (1 review) | On May 20, 1996, Sexauer3 wrote: I ordered pruning shears. I placed the order May 1. I confirmed on May 2 with a promise of shipping on May 2. They did not get shipped till May 10 and did not arrive till May 17. They had promised 3 day shipping. Also, the published shipping charges were very high so I negotiated a lower shipping charge. I got the pruners, they are great. I also received a flyer advertising 15% off on Spring orders placed before May 24. So I called and asked for 15% off. I got a reply that I apparently did not understand the promotion. I don't think they understood my point of view. All told, they were a very frustrating company to deal with although the product was acceptable. I will not order from them again. After all this, I found the pruners at a lower price elsewhere, with no shipping charges. |
