Positive | PaTreeLady (1 review) | On Jan 9, 2021, PaTreeLady Bradford, PA (Zone 5a) wrote: I've received two plum trees and a fig tree from One Green World. The plum trees were ordered as bare root and arrived in very good shape with their roots still damp. The fig tree came in a two gallon container and was also in good shape. I did not detect any insect infestation. Both plum trees seem happy where I planted them and have grown rapidly. The fig tree arrived late last summer and is currently sleeping in my cold basement. I'll look forward to seeing how it does when it wakes up this coming spring. |

Positive | ManzanitaMayhem (2 reviews) | On Nov 17, 2018, ManzanitaMayhem Portland, OR wrote: I've ordered fruiting trees and shrubs from nurseries all across the country and while I'm usually satisfied with the size and quality of most plants I receive by most mail order nurseries, I'm consistently blown away by the size and health of the bare root and potted trees that One Green World sends out! Their guarantee on plants is on par with the rest of the mail order industry, that plants arrive in good shape, and I've never had a problem with them the one time I had a plant get damaged during shipment, which appeared to be the carrier's fault. Very excited on their continually expanding selection! Their website keeps me looking for new places around my yard I can sneak some more plants in. |

My orders are generally small (e.g. <10 plants), but everything has shipped in the specified time frame, was competently packed, and was in good condition upon arrival. |
Positive | GardenCLE (1 review) | On Jun 23, 2017, GardenCLE Avon Lake, OH wrote: I purchased two plum trees from One Green World and my experience has been excellent. They shipped the trees when promised, sent an email alerting me, packaged the trees well, enclosed very good instructions on how to plant. The trees arrived in Cleveland, Ohio in VERY good condition - leaves just breaking out and yellow (probably from being in a dark box during shipping). I was quite surprised with the big sizes of the tree - diameter of trunk was more than I expected. The tree was also nicely grafted and pruned. I followed the instructions exactly for planting (not so sure about the part concerning clay soil, but I did what they told me). The trees are both thriving and looking good. THANKS so much. |

I purchased more Pawpaws, as well as American Persimmons, Apples, and Medlars. Everything I buy from them is healthy and grows. Also, everything is as big as advertised or bigger. |

Positive | GardenBits (5 reviews) | On Feb 2, 2015, GardenBits (Zone 7b) wrote: Several winters ago, I bought 60-70 bare root trees and shrubs from One Green World, which were picked up at their store in South Portland. Almost all of them have thrived, with the exceptions of a couple "user errors" and one cherry tree (Governor Wood), that seemed to be doing fine for a few months, until the grafted top part of the tree died (but the rootstock is still growing). I'm pretty much a novice gardener, so if they can survive me, they must be tough. |
Positive | wildforager (3 reviews) | On Nov 23, 2014, wildforager Sheboygan, WI wrote: In spring of 2014 I ordered $1200 worth of wholesale plants from Northwoods Nursery. I was completely satisfied with the package when it arrived. All plants were healthy, well packed and moist. They were a couple tags short on one bundle of trees. I called and they sent out more tags. |

The ones from One Green World were much, much better than the others and at the same price. They were obviously more mature and had excellent root systems. |

Positive | joebvet (4 reviews) | On Jun 10, 2013, joebvet MOUTH OF WILSON, VA (Zone 6b) wrote: I placed an order Winter 2012 for hard to find trees such as Mt. Ash, Medlar, Raisin tree, and Chilean wintergreen. I was nervous about placing a larger order due to other's negative experiences. The first three on the list were bare root, but good size, and have been doing well since in the ground, with the medlar getting ready to produce fruit this year. The Chilean wintergreen died the first summer due to my selection of poor placement so it did not get enough water. The raisin tree did well, so I thought, but did not green out this spring, I suspect it was not as cold hardy as made out to be. Plants all arrived in good size and health, and I would order from them again for hard to find varieties, but would hesitate to plant a raisin tree in zone 6. |
Positive | organic_tomato (11 reviews) | On Jan 1, 2013, organic_tomato Tyrone, GA (Zone 7b) wrote: I ordered two Peterson pawpaws (Shenandoah and Susquehanna) from One Green World in fall of 2011. The website said they would not ship until the following April, but no one else had those varieties of pawpaw available at the time. I usually have better luck planting fruit trees in the fall instead of spring, but I took the chance and ordered them. |

They do have a great selection. Both times the plants were well packaged and arrived healthy. They responded to my questions by e-mail promptly. One of the trees (apricot, which is more sensitive) didn't survive and they refunded my money. In all I was very happy with their quality and service and would order from them again. |

The package was in great condition and the roots was wrapped in moist saw dust. Thanks to the cool April weather, all the tree starting budding after ten days planting, hope they will grow well this summer. |

Their selection of hard-to-find edible plants is like no other, and I am very happy with their plants. Once a persimmon tree arrived with dried up roots and I thought it wouldn't grow, but it bounced back later and is doing fine. I just placed my new order for next year, so excited! |
Positive | jtellerelsberg (11 reviews) | On May 31, 2011, jtellerelsberg Norwich, VT (Zone 5a) wrote: I placed my order several months ago and have now received several plants from OGW this year: two currants, a gooseberry, a yellowhorn, and two goumi. All arrived in excellent condition and exactly on time for planting at my home in Vermont. The yellowhorn is a bit on the small side, but all the others are as large as I would ever want from something coming in the mail and have good looking roots and lots of healthy looking leaves. The gooseberry and one of the currants even had a little bit of fruit on them already. I've had the plants in the ground for about a week now, and all seem to have made the transition without trouble. |
Positive | RedClay007 (15 reviews) | On Apr 30, 2011, RedClay007 Richmond, VA (Zone 7a) wrote: I just ordered for the first time from OGW, and my experience has been positive. I usually make a small order when dealing with a company for the first time, so I ordered just one 'Mango' pawpaw. I got a confirmation email within 24 hours, which also gave my order shipping date. I responded to the email with questions about this cultivar, and I got a reply within 24 hours. My pawpaw arrived as promised today. The pawpaw was in an appropriate deep pot, well packaged, and of good size. It was in better shape than most other potted pawpaws that I have ordered. I will definitely order from them again. |

I was really blown away by the size of the lingonberries and the blueberry, and one of the best parts was hearing my plant-neutral husband oohing and ahhing over their packaging (he NEVER gets excited about anything horticultural, so that really is a big thing). Will definitely be ordering again. |

Their selection of hard-to-find trees and plants is impressive. Most importantly, the items I ordered (feijoas, goumis and a flowering quince, all in nursery pots) were perfectly packaged and arrived healthy, in excellent condition. The quince even had two tiny little fruits started on it. |

Positive | cramsey1 (24 reviews) | On Jan 30, 2010, cramsey1 Salt Lake City, UT (Zone 6b) wrote: I am really sorry to see some of the negative remarks made about this company. I have bought plants from One Green World (OGW) several times in the past few years and only have had very positive experiences with them. The plants have always been very health, well packed and arrived in good condition. I have bought Blueberry plants, Goumi and Kiwi plants from them. The blueberry plants were larger then expected 2 to 3 feet tall and were very healthy. In fact I had to take the blossoms of them in the summer so they did not bare fruit the same year I planted them. The kiwi was a very nice size and appears health. I am hoping that this one makes it through the winter this year, but if it doesn’t it will not be OGW fault. Whenever I have had a question about a plant I wanted to order or one I had already purchased, their customer service has always had an answer for me and offered suggestions. Their prices are competitive and the quality has been very good. I have not been disappointed with them or their service. They send me plants that I would have picked out for myself if I had been at the nursery. I recommend them to my friends and family. I realize that not everyone has had the same excellent experience with them that I have, but I also know that any online nursery company can make mistakes or have a bad day. Just so long as it is not a pattern. From my perspective it does not appear to be a pattern with this company. |
Positive | gardensgonewild (2 reviews) | On Jan 9, 2010, gardensgonewild Vancouver, WA wrote: I love One Green World. They have a great selection, they are local and "salmon safe". So far, I have purchased from them: a duke blueberry, a royal empress tree, a negronne fig, plus a few strawberries and crocus. Everything has done really well, the plants were healthy on arrival and well packaged. Great value. I Plan to order more this spring. |

Positive | Breyn94 (1 review) | On Sep 16, 2009, Breyn94 Willow Spring, NC wrote: What a nice surprise I had waiting for me when I arrived home from work! My two Shropshire Damson Plum trees were on my front porch and I couldn't wait to open the box to greet them. I am still amazed at the condition these two trees arrived in! These two trees are in pristine condition - not a sign of root damage and every leaf on both trees were healthy and happy. I couldn't be happier with this order from One Green World. If these trees never bear or die on me, it will be NO fault of this mail order nursery. I can't help but shake my head when I read a post that complains that 5 years later no fruit. Folks! Instead of blaming the nursery (which is the easy way out) why not spend that energy investigating what is going on culturally in your own back yard! |

I was very impressed with the nice shipping and the size of the 4 foot tall apple tree I recieved from them. After getting the tree this spring I planted it in a large pot and it leafed out in only one week after planting. The tree came with such a perfect 3 pronged top that when it leafed out it had such a nice shape that I planted it in my brothers front yard. I been scamed so many tmes by other online nurseys with 5 inch tall trees, so made this review to let people know they are not one of them. I am very happy with my order and will be ordering again this spring. |
