Comments regarding Summer Hill Seeds

I had ordered my seeds & i think they have so many seeds that are not available elsewhere. I needed to talk to them about my seeds & they were so quick ( on the weekend) getting back to me. It was a few hours later!!! That was a nice surprise. I got my seeds & will continue doing business with them. They care about their customers.

Another one of my favorites. They are book marked on my computer. Fast shipping and very reliable results. Also, they always send something free with the order. I love their unusual selection. I try something new every year. I think they are just great.

I am very impressed with this company. They have hard to find seeds at reasonable prices. I placed my order Friday night (Saturday maybe), got an email Saturday morning that my order was shipped, and got my seeds on Monday. Now that's what I call super fast shipping. I will definitely buy from them again.

Great, less-common varieties of ornamentals. Very fast shipping. Detailed germination instructions are provided on each seed packet. Was given a free seed packet of a nice perennial. Will definitely purchase from Summer Hill Seeds again.

I got some seeds from summer hill and they were all so plump and large; quite healthy in appearance might I ad. I would totally recommend this seed co to anyone looking to seed garden.

I buy seeds all the time and my most recent purchase has been from these guys, and I'm telling you, there is no other seed company I want to deal with after my experience with Summer Hill Seeds. This is a very good company with excellent service and it’s obvious these people are serious about building customer loyalty. I would recommend them to friends and will buy from them again in the future.

Before ordering, I sent an email about an unusual species that’s rarely offered in the trade, and when ordered usually turns out to be a related species that doesn’t do as well when grown outside it’s native range. Robin assured me she had the correct seeds, and an expert on the plant family in question confirmed this when my order arrived.

I paid via PayPal, which for some reason may cause a duplicate order. I emailed Robin that I had received confirmation emails with two separate order numbers. Robin took care of the matter and emailed me back the same day. I now have no doubt the duplicate order would have been caught and dealt with even if I hadn’t noticed and emailed about it.

I received another email with a tracking number, which I used to follow the package, as I have long been interested in the seeds that I inquired about before placing my order. I had my order within several days, and it included several packets of gift seeds that show my interests were carefully analyzed when the gift seeds were chosen.

My order was not a large one, only nine items. My questions and concerns were taken seriously and I received prompt replies. With the rare item they were careful to supply the correct one and not send the usual substitute, so I’m certain the more common items I ordered which are offered by many of their competitors will prove to be the correct ones when I open the envelopes and plant them. And they send out their orders quickly! All in all a very good ordering experience!

This is my first time ordering from Summer Hill and I am extremely pleased with the experience. Their selection is fantastic-I had to restrain myself from buying more :O)
By the end of this summer, I have realized that one type of flower from the ordered seed stock never germinated, so I have e-mailed Robin my request for a replacement. She was so sweet to answer me immediately, and shipped that replacement that very day. Wow!

I placed a pretty large order with Summer Hill. The seeds came very quickly, every packet I ordered was there, and I received a thoughtful selection of bonus packets with my order and a kind personal note from the owner. Doesn't get much better than that when ordering seeds. This is a company I will remember, and I highly recommend buying from them.

I received seed packs on July 21 and planted that day. Today there are 13 Ibicella lutea seedlings, 22 Mimulus cadinalis 'Red Dragon', and 8 Phygelius capensis. I'm pleased there was germination. A thank you note was handwritten on my invoice and a free seed packet of Pyrethrum Robinson's mix was included. I waited to post to be sure I had viable seeds and healthy seedlings and I do. Yeah! Will order again.

I placed a very large order on a Monday. I received it the following Monday. Everything was there except for two packets that were backordered, and the packing slip specified when they would be coming (two weeks). In addition, Robin was extremely generous with free extras, including one kind that I had emailed her a request to add to my order. She chose the extras well, too--must have paid attention to my tastes. I really could not be happier with this company.

In addition to the good service, there are two things that particularly please me about Summer Hill. One is that if they are out of something, you can click on "More info" and be given a spot to add your email address for them to notify you when the seeds are available again. Very convenient. The other thing I like about them is that they don't just carry the same old things that you find at every seed company. That's why I ordered so many things from them--they had lots of things I didn't already have seeds for. I am really pleased.

Ordered a couple of packets of seeds. I received them in a timely manner.

I had nearly 100% germination with the snapdragon seeds I bought from Summer Hill- only 1 seed failed to germinate. The seedlings are thriving. These are easily the best results I've had with snapdragon seeds ever. Outstanding!

Had a great germination rate for most of the order, though the Climbing Bleeding Heart sprouted, in the fridge (as directed), I guess within a few days (not the extended time frame indicated) and so all died off from lack of light before I realized it. The Cosmos Seashells also did poorly, of 30-40 seeds, only 13 came up, but everything else (we ordered a lot from several places) did just fine.

Website could be better, with more info on difficult to germinate seeds, but it isn't a deal breaker.

Would recommend to a friend.

They had some seeds that I could not find elsewhere. Prices reasonable and I received the seeds within a week of ordering. So far they all seem to be germinating well. I am very pleased with this company and will be ordering from them again.

The seeds arrived very quickly. They sent a bonus (even with a small order), and it *seemed* that they had taken the time to analyze what I might like, because it was actually another I had considered ordering!

I really appreciate that their catalog notes poisonous varieties, a policy I think more nurseries should adopt to help people with toddlers and pets be more aware.

Excellent customer service. Hand written note of thanks plus bonus seeds were unexpected but much appreciated. In these tough times, I choose where to spend wisely. It's nice to do business with a company that truly appreciates your business.

This is in regards to the wonderful service I had at summerhill seeds. Robin's service was exceptional. She returns e-mails immediately, and send free gifts. I had purchased seeds, received them within 7-10 days, as I'am in Canada. Most of my purchases were for tropicals, which take time to germinate, but the seed looked fresh, and was well packaged. If you want to buy from someone who clearly enjoys her job, and customers, give her website a try.

Excellent experience. No problems with my order and I received it in a timely manner.

A great big ditto on all the positive comments. Great variety of seed, great prices, fast delivery, personal note from the owner and two bonus packs of seed sent as a thank you. What else could you want??

My experience with Summer Hill Seeds has been most positive. My only regret is that I can't give them an excellent rating; because your ratings don't go that high. Fast and friendly service. I received my order with one pack of seeds missing so I e-mailed them and had an e-mail written back to me before I could finish looking at my other seeds. Before I could respond to that, I had another e-mail stating my order was in progress and then shortly after that I had yet another e-mail stating that it had been shipped. I'm impressed. I hesitate to mention that she also sent me free seeds; because I don't want everyone to think that they will get free seeds too! Overall a most pleasant experience. Thank You Robin.

I placed an order with Summerhill recently and for some reason my postal carrier didn't feel like leaving the envelope (which would have fit easily in my mailbox) and left my pick up notice in the neighbors box. A couple weeks later the neighbor gave me the notice and my seeds had been returned to sender as I hadn't gone to the PO to pick them up. I emailed Robyn and offered to send payment for postage if they would resend my order. She very kindly and quickly declined my offer of postage money and resent my order (with fresh seeds) which arrived safe and sound. All emails were responded to and I really appreciate them going so far to make sure my seeds made it to me. The reasons I didn't receive them had absolutely nothing to do with them and still they went above and beyond when they didn't have to.
Really happy with my experience and will be returning for more---give them a try!

Found this company by accident. Placed an order and was very impressed with the service and also with the care and professionalism of my seeds and packaging.

Absolutely Fabulous! Prompt shipping, extras, had 1 that was on backorder that I received in less than a week. Some really unique seeds, definitely will shop here again.

I can only echo what others have written - incredible selection, many hard to find seeds, great communications, answers questions FAST, seeds arrived quicky...well packed and somehow, a couple extra packets sneaked into the mailer..LOL The hand written note added that personal touch that is missing in so many transactions.

I'll sure be back for more !!

I was pleased to find this seller via Dave's. She has many unusual varieties such as a yellow impatiens that I have only seen in the nursery where I work as $8 plants. I ordered on April 4 and received my seeds on April 12th. Carefully packaged and with three free packets and a handwritten thank you! Excellent source.

I am totally pleased! Not only was the shipping prompt and the instructions clear to understand, the extra packets of seeds and handwritten personal note from Robin were a very nice touch! The one packet of seeds sprouted in less than 24 hours after planting them per her instructions! (With the help of heat mats and fluorescent lights.) I already have placed a 2nd order and again, she has generously given a couple extra packs which I am excited to grow! Wow! What fast service! I just received my 3rd order this season from Summer Hill. Even though this time it was a small order-3 packs-Robin sent an extra pack of another kind of seed that she thought I might like. The information on how to grow the seed is clearly written on the pack. Plus she sends along a flyer describing the method she has used to successfully grow the seeds. My mail order for seeds to be posted to Athens, Greece was dispatched very promptly & efficiently. The goods arrived intact including some free extras and a personal letter from management. Payment arrangements were extra safe. This is clearly a solid, reputable, courteous company I shall be happy to be doing business with in future. A very positive experience, indeed!
