I placed two seperate orders with Wooden Shoe, and I was a little disappointed with their customer service. In the comments section of my second order, I emailed requesting that the two orders be combined, and provided previous order information, in order to save me some shipping costs. (They actually prompt you to answer this question, so I figured they were interested in the answer.) However, I received two boxes, sent one day apart, and I was charged for both shipping and handeling costs. In the end, not the biggest deal. The bulbs seem healthy and large, and I am still looking forward to seeing these bulbs bloom. Perhaps it will be worth the additional $10!

On April 12, 1997, my wife and I visited Wooden Shoe. The fields were very impressive although damage from last winter's heavy, heavy rains was visible here and there. The Wooden Shoe catalog, while well organized, has that familiar problem so common to the more elaborate catalogs: terrible color rendition. I don't mean to pick on Wooden Shoe since its catalog is by no means the worst, but it is an impossible task to make selections based upon color using the catalog. I think I am using Wooden Shoe as a scapegoat here only because bulb catalogs seem as a group to be the worst at capturing accurate color.
