I bought 4 spartan junipers and 10 spruce last year. 1 spartan lived. I bought 12 spruce this year... they're not looking good. Having better luck with the local nursery and fastgrowingtrees...

I placed an order with Evergreen Nursery for the first time this month (September 2007) for a Canadian Hemlock tree. Their prices were very good and they had a good variety of evergreens and other plants. The tree I ordered was shipped the very next day and I had it by the end of the week. Shipping costs were quite reasonable and Evergreen Nursery offered many different shipping options. The tree I ordered arrived on time and in excellent condition. It was actually quite large especially considering that the cost of the tree was less than $10. I would definitely recommend Evergreen Nursery and in fact, I have already placed a second order for a Gold Mop Cypress.

I ordered a Gold Mop Cypress, which arrived on time. The odd thing was, while the rather hefty 2 pound root ball and soil attached to the small tender young plant was well wrapped, there was no other packing material in the box when it arrived. It was therefore no surprise that several of the small branches were broken since the entire plant and including the heavy root ball were able to move around freely within the box during shipping.

I would probably order from Evergreen Nursery again since the prices and selection are quite good but I would hope that additional packing material be included next time if the box were too large or the root ball heavy with a small plant.
