I contacted Autumns Folly early this spring to ask if prices on the website were good for 2012. They replied promptly (Yes). I sent an order a few weeks later. When there was no acknowledgement I checked back in June and was told they didn't start digging until July (which wasn't exactly an answer). At the end of AUGUST I once more emailed and asked for an approximate delivery date - and was told they are "closing out iris sales due to the economy" - and would not be filling my order! When did they plan to let me know this had I not contacted them?! They offered to send back my check "If I wanted it." I said emphatically YES – and 10 days later I reminded them I hadn’t received it back yet - but I'm STILL waiting for it. Absolutely would NOT recommend this company even if they stay in business (or sell other plants than iris).

Interesting - after I left this comment, my check was returned, I might have reduced my rating to a Neutral except that it came along with a note accusing me of using the Internet to "facelessly strike out at anyone who didn't attend to my immediate needs." I'm sorry that leaving an honest report of my experience was construed as "striking out". Although I was definitely concerned about the check, the primary source of my original dissatisfaction was that - despite TWO emails regarding my order - one about prices before I ordered, and another mid-season after the order was mailed - I was never warned that there was any doubt about filling that order, NOR was I I told it wouldn't BE filled until after I asked for a shipping date at the end of the season. I don't consider that acceptable customer service (I might have still been been able to purchase those iris elsewhere), and not returning my check promptly just added to the level of dissatisfaction. I've never had a similar problem with any other iris grower, and through the years, I've purchased from most of them. As to the Internet (and Dave's Garden) being a faceless place to "strike out", I am signing this comment.
