I've never ordered by mail from Mary and Sherry since I live close. I've never had anything but wonderful service from both of them. Mary is in her 80's now and still is super active in the garden and is just so knowledgable. The plants are always big and beautiful. She has teas in her garden and occasionally other events. The most recent is Art in the Garden. She has vendors set up and leads tours every 30 minutes. I would never hesitate to recommend buying from this plant farm!

The 'Blanche Sweet' lilac I received from this company about two years ago was outstanding: nearly five feet tall and very well-rooted. It has thrived and bloomed this spring. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

I ordered several plants including bee balm, yarrow and Joe Pye weed and several others. WOW. I planted them end of May and they look great - coming into full bloom now. I will definitely be ordering more from her. Very nice and prompt email correspondence when a few items I ordered could not be fulfilled.

Mary's Plant Farm is wonderful. I recently placed an order for 20 PHILADELPHUS P. 'Natchez'. Not only did I receive a break on the cost of shipping because I ordered 20 bushes, she also reduced the cost of each shrub.

I was truly impressed with the size and health of the bushes that were shipped. These aren't sticks or twigs that you get with other companies, the shrubs they send are full size nursery stock shipped bare root. All of my shrubs were at least two-three feet tall and full of branches...buds were also starting to show.

The customer service is wonderful. They will provide recomendations and work with you to provide a great purchase experience.

I will be ordering from them again.

I just want to report a very positive experience with Mary's Plant Farm. A day or two after receiving my order, I got a frantic call from them about a possible mixup in my order. I hadn't checked the order yet, but upon checking the labels (the mixup was between two cultivars of the same shrub) I ascertained that the mixup had occurred. I e-mailed back and they responded quickly saying they were shipping the correct cultivar immediately and that I could keep the wrong cultivar they had sent. Very courteous and prompt service, above and beyond what I have experienced with other firms in correcting mistakes. To top it all off, the plants were quite large and very healthy. Seems to be a family owned and run business who cares about customer service.

I drove up to Mary's with a friend last week to pick up a Harison's yellow rose. This rose seems to be fairly hard to find and I was very excited to find a local source. Their selection is awesome, they know their plants, and they have a number of items that you just can't find anywhere else. We are already planning another trip.

I also had a great experience with this company. Either Mary or her daughter Sherri will answer the phone, and they're extremely pleasant, patient and wonderful sources of information -- very happy to talk to you about plants. The plants that arrived were BIG (the Calycanthus was nursery size, and the rose was bareroot with strong canes). They were very well packed & cushioned in shredded paper, and they seem to be doing well in the garden so far.

Mary is a wealth of information. I was pleasantly surprised that when I called Mary's Plant Farm . . . I got Mary. She helped me so much. Sherri deals with the actual orders and she really knows her roses and she is very gracious. I changed my order more than once and always received a pleasant attitude. Even after several events which caused me to cancel the order, she is graciously shipping me roses to fulfill the deposit I paid. She did not have to do this. I will receive the plants soon and I expect them to be wonderful. It is obvious that these are really nice people and customer service is a priority.

Mary's Plant Farm is the kind of place where the longer you look, the more you find. Sherry is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the plants they sell. We are fortunate enough to live only an hour away from Mary's, so we make a point of visiting at least once during the planting season to purchase something really special. Her plants are big and healthy.

I had been looking for Comptonia plants for a long time, found them at Mary's. Mary answered the phone and was very helpful and down to earth. Plants came in good condition exactly when Mary said they would. I love her website too.

What a great company to deal with! I called yesterday and talked to Sherry Mary's daughter, Who helped me pick out some great roses. If the roses are ready to bloom she will not ship out. May is a little late. Well the ones that could be shipped are the ones just leafing out. Well, we found the polka and red eden to be good to ship. I received my order today. The plants are packaged beautiful and are doing wonderful. I loved the friendliness and knowledge and fast service at Mary's plant farm. She get's Ten stars in my book**********plus. Daintybess38

I am really happy about her native plants. The price is great. I ordered Mayapple, twinleaf, bloodroot. They are so healthy. I ordered them during the dormant stage. Now I can see the twinleaf is really big.

Ordered a Great Maiden's Blush rose from them, and through poor planning on my part it arrived while we were on vacation. Got back to find it on the porch, loooking rather dead. Stuck it in the ground anyway, hoping for the best. It leafed out strongly, including flower buds, only to be completely eaten by critters. Now under netting, it sent out a THIRD flush of leaves which survived throught the summer, and it came back again next spring. If that's not a healthy plant I don't know what is.

I ordered two viburnums expecting to get the usual mail order size. Instead I got two retail nursery sized plants. I even got a credit as they said one of them was small. Both are standing well above the rest of my mail order plants in the yard. When doing a price comparison - compare these to nursery plants not the regular mail order twigs.

By all means, visit Mary's! Her plants are wonderful, her lectures (if you are lucky enough to be with a group) are outstanding, and she will let you know every "blooming thing about plants" - especially things that grow in our area. She and her daughter, Sherry, will guide you to the cream of the crop, the top cultivar, and won't steer you wrong. The plants she has in her own beds show you the maturity and she knows her plants. It is a wonderful place to visit and order from. Another wonderful thing - she is in love with her work and you won't believe the wonderland that she has behind her home. Driving in the country by her home, most people don't even know that Mary's is there. Look closely!

If you're lucky, Mary will answer the phone, and she's wonderful! I ordered some lily bulbs and daylilies last fall, and all were in great shape. They emailed me to let me know my order had been shipped, and included a bonus daylily too. So far, so good. Their spring catalog--just a photocopied list--has just arrived, and it looks as if a visit would be in order. Prices a bit high, but plants will be big. No matter what--Mary herself was worth the price!
