Comments regarding Gardensoyvey.com

I ordered my Big Blue Liriope and tracked their trip on UPS who lost them in their facility for 6 days (no fault of Oy Vey). So surprised that after 10 days they arrived in perfect, healthy condition! Will definitely buy from them again.

I contacted Gardens Oy Vey in early March 2019 wanting to purchase a Styrax Japonicus for Fall delivery. They were out of stock, but Wolfgang told me he would double check - in fact there were some very large (ie: too large to ship) trees. He set 2 aside to be 'gracefully pruned' to shipping size.
In October 2019 - after 10 weeks without rain in NY and TN - both trees had died. Ah, but cuttings started in 2018 were now well-rooted and ready. The cutting I planted in October 2019 has grown 10 inches and is a lovely small tree in August 2020. In addition to growing me a tree, Wolfgang and Gardens Oy Vey have made me feel like not just a customer but a collaborator. *****

I was more than pleased with my first order from this company. Based on the great reviews I placed a bigger order than I normally would with a company I had not ordered from before, and I can only say I wished I had ordered more! The order shipped very quickly, I recieved E-mail updates at every step of the process, and the plants arrived in wonderful condition. Everything I ordered was much bigger than I expected for the price, and the root systems were HUGE. The packaging was flawless - not a leaf out of place. To top it all off, I received a bonus hydrangea. I will definitely be ordering again.

The customer service from gardensoyvey.com was top notch. Very good with keeping me up to date on my order and made communication very simple. They let me know promptly that one of the items in my order was out of stock and gave me the opportunity to choose something else or get refunded. I chose another plant and offered to pay the difference, but they included it for the same price.
Also, I have never before received packaged plants in such great shape. They took the time to soak them well, pack them with paper mulch and protect them with bamboo and cardboard. I will recommend them to everyone. Thank you so much!

Catching up on my reviews. I ordered two plants in 2014 and was VERY happy with the size and quality of the plants.

Very good communication, and great trees. This is my first experience with online plant buying and of the three companies I've ordered from this spring they are the only company I would order from again, I wish other companies were as good as Gardensoyvey.

Just received my Styrax americanus and I am more than pleased. The value for money is more than fair.

Their communication is excellent. I inquired last fall as to availability of a multi-stem (vs tree form) and they got right back to me. I received a number of status updates after ordering in January.

I only live several hours away so I am now going to plan a side trip to their place when we go to Memphis.

Background: Our border collie named "Buckeye" passed away in July and we wanted to remember him by planting a Red Buckeye. Our thought was in a few years we would give away the buckeye nuts for friends who loved our dog almost as much as we did.

We found two suppliers, one of which was Gardensoyvey. After several emails exchanged and Wolfgang's answers, we decided to order 4 because he offered a good price for smaller seedlings although we knew it would take a couple of years longer before they would produce nuts.

He sent 6 pots because, in his words, "we have plenty." Would a large nursery do that, especially for a small, first-time order? One of the pots had two and another had three seedlings; he sent us 9 seedlings. Now our friends could have the trees this year as a memorial instead of waiting.

They have been planted for a month now and although dormant, they are doing well. Some mulching over winter (last two have seen -20 F) should get them through it.

Thanks, Wolgang. I highly recommend your nursery to others. Your customer service alone is better than many of the large nurseries that I've purchased from over several years. I ordered on a Sunday, they were sent on Monday, arrived on Wednesday and all were in the ground or re-potted by Saturday.

I received my first order from Gardensoyvey today and my comments would certainly agree with everyone else's. The Japanese maple was shipped when I asked, well packed and exactly the size they said it would be.

Have ordered multiple times ; most recently this month and received two awesome Japanese Maples. Price is right and customer service is spot on. Wolfgang and Diane are consummate professionals and run a fantastic nursery. Would order again without hesitation.

I researched a searched for a "Butterfly Bush" and kept coming back to Gardensoyvey.com. Their information was clear and concise and their review ratings were outstanding. I contacted them with my questions and their responses were extremely quick and personal. I was convinced this was the nursery to do business with. I ordered my "Lo & Behold Ice Chip" plant and was impressed with Wolfgang and Diane's attitude and concern to give me personal service.
But what really blew me away was when Wolfgang contacted me to say that he wasn't totally satisfied with the plants he had in stock and wanted to find me a better one. I asked if this was going to delay delivery and he assured me that he would insure that I still received it in two days. A few hours later he contacted me to say he had found a plant that he was sure I would be pleased with and that it was already on the way. He continued to communicate with me about the progress of the shipment. Sure enough, it arrived in two days and was perfectly "packed" and protected. Was I pleased with it? That's an understatement. I was ecstatic with it! It was/is beautiful and arrived with blooms already set on it.
The outstanding quality of their products is only exceeded by the even more outstanding quality of their service! Do not hesitate to purchase from these folks — you won't be disappointed! Thank you Gardens Oy Vey!!!!

Just received my order from GardensOyVey. The quality and size of the plants is amazing! All but one are six to twelve inches over sized, by next spring the plants will actually look like something. I had t stay to a budget and ordered small in order to increase quantity. I AM AMAZED! And next year will be enjoying a fairly full planting.

An Amazing nursery. What delightful people to deal with! Really personal service and wonderful plants. Wolfgang sent double the amount of Myosotis Scorpioides ordered. Plants were freshly dug right before shipment and arrived looking that way. This company is a JOY to do business with.

Very positive experience. My most recent purchases have been a beautiful Tangerine Beauty Crossvine. Oyvegarden also has a storefront via wooffi on Ebay which I find easier to purchase from. I bought two Azalea's from Garden's Oyvey. They were well packed and shipped and arrived in great condition. The Azalea's were exactly as described on their website.

I've purchased ferns from this company in the past, after finding them through their ebay listings. All were healthy and arrived promptly, but never at the expense of the plants' health!

Like so many other Dave's Garden readers, I had an excellent experience with Gardensoyvey. They were responsive and answered my questions promptly. Wolfgang made several suggestions for my shade garden. They even sent me three freebies. Plants were extremely well packaged and arrived quickly. I will be a long term customer of theirs. Have ordered twice from this company in the last month. Plants are huge and in perfect condition. Customer service and contact was outstanding. I will have no reservations and will order again most definitely. Don't hesitate to order from Gardensoyvey!

I ordered two bushes in 3 gal pots (extra shipping charge for large pots with soil, which was stated up-front). I received a shipping notification the next day, and within a few days the box arrived. The bushes were large and in excellent shape, well-packaged and undamaged. I couldn't ask for better, quicker service, nor for nicer plants. I will definitely look to this company for future mail-order shipments.

Marvelous company and just super plants. Have ordered Lenten Rose, Merrill Magnolia, Yuletide Gardenia and dogwood. All arrived packaged nicely and as described, full, green and with lots of new growth buds. Read their guide for planting and you will learn how to do it right and help plant not only survive but thrive. Can't say enough good things. Their plants are far superior to anyone's and I have ordered from lots, including Fast Growing Trees and Brighter Blossoms. While the last two ship god plants, Gardens Oy Vey's are far superior, larger roots and in better condition because of careful and exceptional packaging. Nice also to deal with real people who have an investment instead of kids with no horticultural background getting paid minimum wage to answer a phone. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Might cost a couple bucks more than the big high-volume guys but well worth it.

Got the plants quickly and they are in great shape!!

The sweet brush arrived today and it's already been put into the ground. thank you for the fast shipping and for the health and size of the plant. I never like it when plants arrive and they are only 12 inches tall. This was the reason I went with your nursery.

I have ordered many plants over the web in the past, and this was my first order with Gardensoyvey. The Hydrangea Serrata (Blue Billow) that I received was very well packed, arrived in great condition, and was much bigger than I expected. Communication from Diane and Wolfgang was fantastic - they have a very personal touch that made me feel like my happiness was their #1 priority.

my first time ordering from this company although i have wanted to for several years.
i only ordered one plant, a Cinnamon Fern. i placed the order this week and it's already here, perfectly healthy and happy. the email response was terrific and i really like these two. seems like they go out of their way to please.

Very good experience buying from them, my fig plant arrived in very good condition. They kept in touch on when the order would be delivered and if something was wrong they would sent me another plant.

Rec'd my "Little Lamb" hydrangea when promised. Plant arrived in great shape w/excellent planting instructions -- therefore, no transplant shock noticed. Great communications from the company. Will definitely use again!

I will reiterate what others have said--this has been hands down the BEST plant I have ever received mail order!!
I ordered a Winter Jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum) a bit late in the season, and was a bit nervous about shipping in the heat, but I'm just a few states north of Gardens OyVey and the plant arrived in two days time, looking very fresh, full, and healthy. It did arrive while my boyfriend was at home, so I had him tuck it in the cool garage while I was at work.
This is not a variety of jasmine that is easy to find.I tried growing this jasmine (a single-stem rooted cutting)a few years ago in an indoor hanging pot that one of the cats knocked down one too many times. I paid something around twenty bucks (incl. shipping) for that single stem...I decided to start out with a more vigorous and established plant this time. The extra growth is completely worth the extra cost. This plant is show-off ready out of the box!
The plant was secured in a box nearly as tall as me, with a thick section of bamboo securing the 3-gallon container to the bottom and ensuring the box would not collapse during shipping, the soil was carefully secured with crumpled rolls of damp newspaper, and the longest shoots were carefully curled around the top of the box--I would estimate the height at at least 3 feet. This plant was very carefully packed and it looks like they make every effort not to top off plants for shipping purposes. Diane and Wolfgang sent a nice e-mail letting me know that they would hold my plant until the Monday following my order (as is explained in their seller info) and give it a 24-hour drink before shipping, and I was provided with a tracking number when it shipped...it arrived in perfect condition.
I replanted in a jumbo 24" planter and it is just gorgeous!! We are having some very windy weather, so I sprayed it down with anti-transpirant to ease the transplant shock, although I'm not sure it needed it. I think this plant has had extra TLC from day one :)
I am just thrilled with this jasmine and I'll look at Gardens OyVey first the next time I'm hunting down some great specimen!!

This experience has been the best I've ever had with any company at any time.

They communicate quickly and clearly while still being friendly. The hydrangea I received is quite large, appears exceptionally robust, and was so carefully packed it could have been porcelain.

Receiving the most hale and hearty mail-order plant I’ve ever seen would have been more than enough for me to sing their praises, but that’s not all …

They don't just include an invoice with the order like so many others. I received several professional and attractive pages of detailed instructions (which are delightfully easy to follow) along with some very interesting and helpful information about planting in general. I’ve been a Master Gardener for about ten years and yet this basic, common-sense information was new to me. They have given me ideas that will improve my day-to-day gardening for the rest of my days. I can’t thank them enough for this.

The next time I’m in Tennessee I will make a point to visit A Nursery Inside A Garden.

After reading a recent review here at Dave's, I placed an order with Gardensoyvey. All I can really say is WOW!! The plants I received are fantastic - large roots, great foliage, and extremely generous in size. For example, I ordered Acorus from OyVey and the same plant from another vendor and, although Oy Vey was $4 more, the plant that OYVey sent is at least 20 times larger than the other one (no exageration!) making OyVey by far the better deal. Diane was also very generous with the bonuses (thank you so much, Diane, for your kindness - I really appreciate it!). I am grateful that Diane sent a delivery confirmation as it tipped me off that UPS mis-delivered my package (we finally found it late Friday evening at the bottom of a neighbor's hillside driveway). I followed OyVey's directions and soaked the plants thoroughly prior to potting out and despite the fact that my plants were exposed to the sun all afternoon (due to UPS), the plants have bounced back. I attribute this to the great packaging and the health of the plants at the time of shipping. GardensOyVey is truly one of those 10 star companies which are few and far between. I will definitely order from them again.

Can't say enough nice things about this company! The shipping was fast, and the packaging was so good, you couldn't even tell the plants had been through the mail!! As others have stated, communication was first rate as well. I ordered 2 Little Lime hydrangeas and they were gorgeous--I couldn't believe their size! Very nicely shaped, multi branched, plants with well developed root systems, etc. They made the transition from pot, to ground with no trouble at all. It's nice to do business with people who care so much about what they do and enjoy what they do!

I bought 2 Rohdea Japonica (Sacred Lily). They arrived in fantastic shape. Lively green and ready to plant. I only ordered 2, but because the plants were a good size I was able to separate them and got 6. Thank you so much. I will be ordering from you again and again and again.
