I ordered grass to be delivered on 5/9 between 7am and 12pm. On 5/9 I recieved an email stating that my order had been shipped. At 1pm I called to check the status and was told that I should have recieved an email stating that the order had been pushed back a day and would be here between 1 and 4 the next day. No Grass. On friday i called and was put on hold by their automated system. After close to an hour I hung up. I tried email and James responded with that my order would be filled this week. There was never any apology or sorry for your inconvience. More of I am doing you a favor attitude to the email. I asked what this week meant and he replied
"We can get it done for you if you would like to wait. The latest that the job would be done would be next Wednesday or before. We will get it done as fast as possible but that is the best we can do at this time. I can guaranty that it will be done no later than Wednesday of next week, it is just a matter of patients. I replied that I would wait and to please email me with a firm date and time when he got one. Never heard a thing. Well Wednesday came and went no grass. I emailed James again twice on Wednesday and he never replied. I emailed James a third time and asked for a full refund and to cancel my order and as expected no reply. I have since contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and start a record of the incident. If the charge is not refunded they will follow up on their end.

I took off work again to be there for delivery, guess what no grass, no call, no nothing. Re-established order and were assured that they would deliver that afternoon, guess what, no grass just another phone call telling me that they would not deliver that day but the next which was Saturday. Needless to say no grass delivered. Called again and were told the truck had an accident and my sod was on the highway, but they will deliver it Monday.

Left an email asking how they plan to compensate me for the 13 hours of lost income due to waiting for delivery of my sod. From what I have been reading here, I will not be holding my breath. I have lost to much money into this deal to cancel. Suppose I will have to see if they actually deliver Monday. If not I guess I will try to go the reverse charge back route as I suspect this company would try and pull some "service fee" scam thing on me if I cancel through them. Will let you know how it turns out.

I contacted James from grass4sale on Monday the 9th, and he said it was too wet to cut the grass, and it would be delivered on the 10th or the 11th. It wasn't delivered on the 10th, and again I contacted James on the 11th, and he said there was another rain delay, and it would be delivered on the 12th or 13th. On the afternoon of the 13th I contacted James, and he said it would be delivered on the 14th. I asked if I could just cancel, and he said no as it was already cut. I told him I would be doing a chargeback on my credit card, and he said "good luck" as they would just send the credit card company a copy of the terms and conditions, and get their money.

Not once have I received a call or e-mail telling me there were going to be delays. I have atempted to contact Walker's by phone several times, and they never answer the phone. I have now taken two days off from work, and rented equipment, only to be stood up every time.

I ended up cancelling my order, and doing a chargeback with my bank. I got my money back, but now Walker's has turned it over to a collection agency. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Walker's would not respond to the BBB. I have now discovered that Walker's has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB. Buyer beware, these guys will try to drag you through the fire until you throw your hands up and just pay them out of frustration.

We were then told that it would be delivered Tuesday (2/26/07). After receiving no news, I called them and was told that they tried to deliver it the previous night (without telling us) but the truck could not get down the street. The street is narrow but other 18-wheelers have made it down.

Presumably after speaking to the trucker, I was told that it would not be deliver the sod that day. They may or may not be able to deliver it at all. If they could deliver it, they would not be able to tell me when or what time; and they would not be able to give me prior notice to delivering it.

Can you believe this? I can’t think of any other company that has such poor service (that includes movers, utilities or the government). Obviously, we canceled our order and another company will deliver our sod this Thursday. (They have a plan if they can’t get the truck down the street.) I can only hope for a company like Grass4Sale to go out of business. That would make it easier for a customer to find a company that provides good service.

Delivery delayed almost a week "due to rain in Houston" which is apparently where the grass comes from that I purchased (empire zoysia - although before ordering I was told this grass either came from Bastrop or the King Ranch grass farms). Finally showed up and the delivery guy had to unload 4 pallets by hand, piece by piece, since the equipment was broken. For all the waiting, the grass was ok, not great condition.

Ordered same grass second time since we needed more. This time delay was over a week. Nobody calls to say there will be delay and email is sent saying it's been delivered. No appologies for inconvience in rescheduling landscaper several times, taking off work to meet the truck that never comes, etc. This long delay was also supposedly due to "rain in Houston." Then there was no rain, but some other equipment was broken. This time the grass is in horrible shape. Dry, straw-like. And I thought there was all sorts of rain in Houston!? For the little bit of money you save, better off paying slightly more and go to a local grass retailer.
