Comments regarding New Hampshire Hostas

Better late than never to rate this company since I ordered May, 2008!
Richard Merritt is one of a kind. He's helpful and considerate
and of all the mail order companies I have dealt with, his
was the easiest.

I received my order in a timely fashion and even got a bonus
plant, which was delightful.

I thought one of my ordered plants, a giant variety, wasn't going to make it because of a unusual heat surge during shipping, so I isolated it and heeled it in to see what it would do..
In the mean time, I wrote and mentioned it. He offered to
send it out the next week. In the mean time, the plant
revived < it's now one of the biggest!> and I let him know
and he thanked me for telling him to save him the cost and shipping.

I would recommend his company to anyone interested in hostas. He also has a huge selection with very detailed information.
I hope to buy more this coming spring.

Having read all the other positive comments, there is no need for me to add more, but I will!
Plants arrived packed better than any others I have ever received - amazing!
Plants were exceptional, in size and quality, I couldn't have picked better ones for myself.
Had problems with credit card ordering - no fault of NHH - and had a personal call within an hour.

Ordered 4 hostas and got a bonus for a very reasonable price. They arrived quickly and were wrapped exceedingly well. Very pleased with what I received and would not hesitate to order from them again. A good bang for the buck hosta seller!

Their easy-to-navigate website offers an extensive selection of hostas, some of which are otherwise quite difficult to source. My plants were packaged securely and shipped promptly, arriving in impeccable condition. I had a very positive experience with NH Hostas and would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

Excellent experience. I was impressed from the get-go. Great website, wonderful selection. However, a company can look great online and have problems when it comes to order fulfillment. These folks were terrific. Five-star plus!
Good communication via email. Order was shipped fast and most importantly, the order was even better than hoped for. The plants were healthy, looked great and I was particularly impressed with the quality of packing and shipping. The plants were in superb condition. Nothing was damaged, the plants were fresh and looked totally great. No breakage or damage in shipping. The shipment (from NH to NC) was sent FedEx and the materials were nicely moist on arrival. I only wish that all online companies were so professional. BTW, I found the company by online search for hosta and had read NO reviews of the company prior to placing my order, so this was a serendipitous finding!! I wouldn't hesitate to order again, particularly after seeing my experience affirmed through the reviews of others!

They're all thriving despite this year's drought and are now carefully mulched for their winter sleep. Very impressed w/ New Hampshire Hostas... All of the plants have arrived in great shape and have ALL grown very well.... Website is very helpful (loved the classification ratings "slug-resistant", "sun tolerant", etc).... Selection was great... Excellent packaging for shipping and great turn around time. I also appreciated receiving "customer appreciation" discount opportunities. Very respectable/reputable company.... I have made 3 purchases there and in the future will only shop for hostas from NH Hostas. Bravo!

I ordered 10 hostas and it was a pleasure. The plants were fabulous and very healthy. Very pleased. I certainly will be doing business here in the future.

Placed an online order last Thurs and followed up with a phone call with questions. They were really helpful & were able to see my order as I spoke with them. The order arrived today (Tuesday) via FedEx - very well packed, and arrived with no damage to the plants. It took awhile to unpack since I ordered so many, but worth the time. I love that they include bonus plants if you order $40 or more.

There are two companies that I think have awsome hostas and awsome delivery and you are one of them. I will order more. They are good size beautiflul plants and well packed. I will tell everyone to order from you. Thanks Bev

Everytime I order hostas from your company I have been extremely pleased. The hostas are packaged perfectly, they are healthy, and shipping is very fast. Hostas that I ordered last year are already very large, this tells me they where divided from a nice mature plant. I love having a hosta store online, when I cannot find what I am looking for, its usually here.

I visited Richard for the first time today and I thought I died and went to Hosta Heaven!!!! He has pots and pots of rare hostas for very reasonable prices. All HUGE and healthy!!! It's worth a trip from almost anywhere, esp. if you're a serious hosta-holic like me (just bring an oxygen tank- you may hyperventilate!). Now I need more money and a bigger truck!

WOW! What and exceptional experience dealing with New Hamshire Hosta's. I have dealt with numerous on line nurserys over the past few years, including a number of watchdog 30 companies, but was never so impressed by the product and service that I felt the need to provide feedback...until now . I ordered 6 hosta's from New Hampshire's web site last Sunday night. Within 30 minutes I got a follow-up e-mail from the owner thanking me for the order and promising to ship the next day. This is a Sunday night remember. Sure enough, three days later a heavy box arrives at my doorstep delivered by Fed-Ex. When I opened the box, I was stunned. All plants were well leafed and watered, planted in oversize extra deep containers, and packed like Fort Knox. Even a unexpected seventh bonus plant was included. I need to find more room in my garden just so I can have the pleasure of dealing with these professionals again in the near future. THANKS Richard!!!

I placed two separate orders with this vendor this year and each was a positive experience-quality, well-rooted plants, and outstanding packaging. They included a choice bonus plant with one of the orders. The owner was very helpful whenever I called with questions.

Couldn't be any closer than Kingston, NH, but visited this nursery
today for the first time. Excellent staff, they know their
stuff and what a great variety of hostas,(make sure you
make a list of what you love the best!) all laid out in order
A thru Z. The landscaping in and around this place is
worth the trip, trees, bushes, perenials all on display, ready
to take home, nice friendly people, excellent prices, will
return for sure.

I was very pleased with my first order from NH Hostas. The plants were in wonderful shape and included a bonus plant that I had not expected. The service was excellent, and product beautiful. What more can I say? I would recommend this as a good hosta source and not hesitate to order again from NH Hostas.

Visited NH Hostas yesterday and it was a delightful experience. Richard, the owner, is very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are quite reasonable for healthy, well grown plants and the huge selection of hostas is unbeatable in local nurseries. I highly recommend this nursery and especially recommend a visit if you're nearby since they have lots of other beautiful stock. Just a few minutes from Mass., Maine and the NH seacoast in a bucolic New England setting. Nice!

My hostas from New Hampshire Hostas arrived last week and were in excellent condition. Great packaging material and healthy LARGE plants. I was also pleasently surprised to receive a bonus hosta! They are all growing beautifully and I look forward to dealing with Richard and his team as soon as I can make more space in my hosta garden!

The hostas that I received were in excellent condition with beautiful root systems. They were potted, not bare root, which is always nice. I also received two bonus hostas in my order, which was a pleasant surprise!

A small mistake was made on my order (one hosta was left out) and it was handled promptly. Any company can make a mistake, but only a good one will correct it quickly and without hassle.

I highly recommend purchasing from New Hampshire Hostas. You won't be sorry!

The Hosta look great. I received the Hostas in two shipments. The first were all dormant and there was nothing to see but soil. It didn't take them long to really take off. Very happy with the order and especially happy about the bonus Hostas.

i received my first order from new hampshire hostas. it came in two parts. the first part i received dormant plants, they have already came up. the second were nice size healthy plants. i had to change my order, they answer promptly and changed it. thank you for the great service. i would highly recommend them.

On a scale from one to ten, I give them an 11.
Plants are great nice sized and healthy and sent in pots which I am grateful for. If you dont have time to plant them right away this is the way to go.
Shipping was also great.
Customer service, cant say anything more than WOW!!
Richard actually answers the emails very polite and prompt.

I got the most wonderful hosta from New Hampshire Hostas, called "Guacamole."
I got it in the fall, and planted it under my birch tree. Do you know it actually bloomed a few weeks later. I did not expect that!
It has the most beautiful flower with a sensual scent redolent of the tropics. I was so pleased I had all my neighbors sniff my hosta!
